Wandering the World
Treaty of American Reaffirmation
Almost six-score years ago, our forefathers freed themselves from the heavy yoke of British tyranny, drafting a constitution unique in it’s vision and breadth. Though that document was ultimately flawed, it lay down many inalienable truths, and from it a legacy was forged. Though the beacon that the Founders envisioned has faded, it’s heritage has not. The Confederate States of America and the Union of North-America are both heirs of that light, and, though they bear its torch in different manners, both are as cousins. And, like cousins may feud in bitterly, the sons and daughters of America have fought the most vicious of quarrels and have not let that end the bonds of kinship they hold. Bonds of blood bind all Americans, and though we have since gone our own ways, the Confederate States of America and the Union of North-America reaffirm their mutual legitimacy as independent and sovereign states, the borders set by the treaty that ended the civil war, and agree to the following non-aggression pact:
1. That neither undersigned party shall engage in military actions against one another, for any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to, unprovoked invasion, defense of a third party from one of the undersigned parties military actions, and limited retaliatory attacks.
2. That, in the interest of keeping reducing militarization of North America, neither party shall attempt to establish a military relationship (defensive or offensive pact) with any other North American nation.
3. That neither undersigned party shall engage in subversive activities directed at destabilizing one another's domestic tranquility.
4. This agreement shall last 2 years (4 turns*), after-which time its clauses shall require mutual renewal or fall out of force.
*OOC: Should time "slow down" make this period still 4 turns, but shorten the in-game time duration to match the game-play duration.
