Deity Gnb Pbem Planned !!!

To make an end to this long discussion, Napoleon himself stated his opinion:

"- the money is OK
- Frankfurt and Hamburg will be empty without any military buildings, building only domestic buildings.
- Amsterdam will be French without restrictions, Kobenhaven will be Prussian without any restriction."

If Prussia agrees, it can play his turn.

In a press statement earlier today, the Austrian Minister of Foreign Affairs was quoted: "... we therefore urge both the French and the Prussian heads of state to come to an agreement in their macabre poker game over the lives of thousands of inocent people in these cities..."

We are agreeable, except for Hamburg - which we would like without restrictions.

However, in a spirit of goodwill we will seek to continue discussions with France on this matter, as we are keen to conclude the "poker game", to quote the esteemed Austrian Foreign Minister.

Iohannes Soute
Prussian Foreign Minister & Poker Tsar

Following the conclusion of the so-called Frankfurt Poker Game Prussian forces have this month entered Frankfurt, secured a substantial sum of gold, and retired - as per the agreement.

There was some resistance met in Frankfurt, with a rabble of Reservists swiftly despatched, and Prussian cannon is now retiring victoriously to Berlin [okay Yop ;) ] The city is, as per the agreement, empty of Prussian military forces, and the newly-installed governor has moved to promote trading links with neighbouring cities.

A payment of 350 gold has this month been made to France, with 100 to follow.

[Yop - didn't know how to do this, so I offered you a gift in my turn - see following sequence of attached images as proof ! Hope this is okay ! There wasn't a 450 gold option, so I'll see if I can do the 100 remaining next turn].

Finally, as a gesture of goodwill, the Prussian Foreign Ministry kindly requests that Emperor Napoleon retire his French Army presently located immediately south of Frankfurt.

----

Over to you Case (apologies for the protracted delay etc etc!) :)

Statement from Prussian Foreign Ministry :

In conclusion to the "Frankfurt Poker Game" Prussia acknowledges the following agreed points with Emperor Napoleon of France :
  1. Prussia formally announces that it will not seek an alliance with Britain
  2. Prussia acknowledges France's claim to Amsterdam, with no restrictions
  3. That Hamburg and Kobenhaven are left to Prussia by France, with no restrictions in Kobenhaven, but the restrictions concerning Hamburg are still to be discussed with France's ministers
  4. 450 gold be paid to France - and that 350 has already been paid, with 100 to follow
  5. That no Prussian military forces will be stationed, nor military improvements made, in Frankfurt
  6. And finally, as a gesture of goodwill, we add here our previous request that France retires it'a army currrently encamped south of Frankfurt

First, Frunobulax, I believe you .
Second, IMHO, 1 empty buffer is not enough, so I think Hamburg should be "empty". But maybe the city can be operated by our own emperor Napoleon. (this is just a thought, you can oppose yourself to it, but the one who operates the city needs to conquer it himself, so, I thought to do my share in the business )

Greetings, Napoleon

But maybe the city can be operated by our
own emperor Napoleon. (this is just a thought,

Dear Napoleon,

as per the agreement, we will take Hamburg in October, but agree to keep it as another buffer city, like Frankfurt. Trust you are agreeable !

best wishes

Fredercik F III

I think the Reinbund thing is settled then. Now the game can continue.

:) yup !

Trade set to boom!

The British government today anounced that a trade convoy has entered the Baltic Sea. The Times understands that the convoy consists of a transport ship loaded with valuable goods and an escort frigate.

Politics:
Today the Austrian Ministries of Foreign Affairs, as well as its French counterpart have anounced the formal signing of a cease fire. The agreement follows French requests to formalise the cease of hostility previously observed. The Austrian Foreign Minister noted that with the crises concerning the nothern German provinces nominally resolved "our nation does not see any further problem in even extending the present mandate to a peace treaty proper".

Economic Bull Time:
Tax revenue on 2 year high- 30 to 50 extra intakes estimated per annum... this follows an increase in luxury re-distribution and adjustments to technolgy... gains are to correct social misschief between Austria and its neighbouring countries...

Oktoberfest a full success:
The Oktoberfest is on the best way to achieve a new record in both "Maß" (1 Liter/Glass) sold, as well as visitors to the festival this year. It has been argued that this is mainly due to the prominent visits of European royalty to the event, as the Kaiser has invited (amongst others) the King Gustav Adolph of Sweden, King Case I of England, Carlos IV of Spain, as well as the Prussian Monarch. Other analysts have nonetheless dicussed that the high numbers are more easily explainable when looking at the cheap price for "accessories" to the beer- as are Prussian imported Frankfurters and Leipziger Bratwürstchen, Münchner White Saussages and Nürnberger. Prices are still high on Badish Bockwürste, yet it is believed that the market will saturate...

A quote in La Quotidienne from our minister of Defence:

"Not much to do this month. All armies are fortifying. The armie besieging Frankfurt has withdrawn to Liege. The next month, a inland siege will begin, to stay out of reach of the hated British Fleet.
The Russian Tsar has agreed in a French-favourable peace treaty. An unknown sum of money was paied for this.
In the meditteranian and in the English Channel, a new French fleet is being constructed. General De Vilneuve will soon command a new fleet.
Also, a trade convoy is under it's way to Paris."

NAPOLEON DEAD ?!?

A foreign correspondent for the Berlin Zeitung in Cairo has received a startling report that Emperor Napoelon is DEAD !

It is believed that he died in battle with the Ottoman Turks in Egypt, though this news is as yet unconfirmed by French officials.

Speculation is rife as to who will now take over as leader of the French nation.

A grief loss indeed- for he was getting interesting as an adversary... it would also mean that the Turks may have looted the late Emperor's most personal posessions and the egyptian corps' treasury !

Napoleon's Death Mask Captured by RN

In a daring operation the HMS Minotaur intercepted the French transport bringing General Napoleon's personal belongings home to France.
While the Minotaur returned Napoleon's personal belongings to his family under a flag of truce, the General's death mask has been taken to London so that experts can check wether it is genuine.
