Just wondering how we can go about doing it. Or do we need TF or one with the 'rights' to do it?

My PBEM partner and I had been using the Uploads folder here at CFC to speed up the tossing to-and-fro of game files, for our PBEM, when we're both online at the same time. As a result, we'd a lot of files in there, taking up space, which are no longer needed.

So, can someone pls delete all the alliancexxx.zip files in the Uploads2 and Uploads3 folders? Unless of course, you have space to waste?

Thanks. :)

I did think of PMing him, but thought later of posting it because others might have some stuff to delete too, from there. ;)

I've asked him about that a long time ago. Maybe vbulliten 3.0 might have something...

Deleted all those alliance files. Thanks for letting me know. :)

The Uploads3 folder alone contained 236 alliance files and totaled about 45 MB.

Just imagine if each game did that! 10 games alone would be 450 megs!

Yeah I PM'ed TF on this a while ago, keep track and tell him, we don't have rights to delete those files

I expected something like that. We're up to turn 245, and considering there're 2 of us so 490 files. But of course, some are sent thru normal email (when we aren't playing 'online'). And towards the endgame, the file size is about 250kB, so.... :)

We'll probably still be using the Uploads folder for awhile, to toss the game around. Will keep you posted on future deletions. :)

Maybe an announcement in said subforum for players to remember to get TF to delete their files in case they're using the Uploads feature? ;) There're quite a number of 2 player games in there; though not sure how they're exchanging the files...

Everyone playing PBEM's that way could just be keeping a Standard like Knight- Dragon and his opponent did, and then when they are done they could ask TF to remove the files.

Another solution would be to earmark each file with the username, so that to delete a file, a moderator or The one with the correct earmark could delete the file. This way everyone can delete the files they put on the upload cataloges. Just a thought, don't know if it's possible, but it should if it has any connection at all to the database...
