Denmark

I think the question is:
Are Berserkers intentionally at a lower CS than Longswords? Or was it just overlooked when longswords got their most recent buff?

It wasn't overlooked - @Gazebo noted it. But it wasnt this way before. Before longswords got their buff to 22 cs, when they were 20 cs, Berserkers had the same cs. They should be the same strength again.

melee CS has kept creeping up. At some point I don't think the center could hold, and G made a detemrination that he didn't want 22CS melee units in the classical era

I think that was the right call, but I also would be in support of lowering melee CS a tad on swords and longswords.

Unique units that are inferior to the unit they are replacing in an aspect still feels bad. As do UU that have the same CS and only a single upgrade that doesnt carry over (*cough* Maya).

I can't find the post that someone made earlier, but it was a fantastic suggestion when I saw it:

As a solution for Berzerkers, keep the 20 CS, but give them a promotion that provides them with +2 CS when Steel is researched.

Done!

Whether we use that for the Danes or not... I like the design space that offers. Its a way to softly upgrade a unit during its lifecycle, which gives you a bit more precision in the design of the unit.

There is already code that allows you to set CS for a unit in different eras. So, Zerkers could have 19 in classical and 22 in medieval, or whatever

I find it a bit counterintuitive that a civ like Denmark that has a kit heavily emphasizes on the military aspect of tbe game and a UB reliant on being at war to grant yields yet it loses the flat supply the vanilla building provides.
I think the Runestone should get 1 flat supply just like the Lighthouse.

Been enjoying war profiteering as uncle Harold and noticed something rather strange; entering an enemy tile that has The great wall through land consumes all movement points as intended but entring a tile through disembarkation from a water tile uses only one Movement point.
I'm not sure if it's intended or not but rather an unexpected behaviour for the UA to override the great wall.

Seems like i did not elaborate what i meant well, I meant an embarked unit entering a land tile through water is technically entering the land around which the wall is built or at least this is how expected it to work.

I'm not complaining about it, it's just strange that it behaves this way.

Harald's disembark rule also helps with this. It overrides penalties.

I understood, have seen it happen before, was just joking that it makes sense since the Great Wall was only built towards other land, not on the coast to prevent vikings.

Is there a reason why Berserkers unlock at Metal Casting and not Steel?

It feels awkward to have a unit that is in an aspect weaker than the base unit, if Berserkers were moved to Steel they could have their +2 CS restored and that wouldn't be an issue.

Denmark is pretty powerful as is, particularly in human hands and I don't think this nerf would harm them too much tbh.
