Would you quit with this "anti-DEmoCRaTIc" rhetoric? Killing bourgeoisie is PRO DEMOCRACY! COMMUNISM/SOCIALISM IS PRO DEMOCRACY!

Democracy is not nor will ever be the same as Capitalism. Capitalism and Democracy are contradictions NOT complimentary to one another. Yet the bourgeois propagandists in the MSM have drilled it into your head giving you brain worms that democracy is somehow = or is synonymous with capitalism.
Just a reminder that I was responding to this post:
Reading this thread I am simply amazed at the level of support and/or indifference for the murder of someone. I find this completely chilling.

As a few notable others have said, respect for the rule of law is a fundamental requirement for democracy to function.
Still, if nothing else it's interesting how I am being criticised simultaneously for not expressing my opinion and also for apparently writing a pro-capitalism thesis in the same thread

cops, fence sitters
Personal curiosity. Does having an opinion on the internet qualify one as "off the fence" in this usage?

I wouldn't think it does?

But then that would imply cops, for example, are generally attempting to improve things with thier hands instead of thier mouths.

Well it's not antidemocratic to murder people in general really. It's just a bit illegal.

And? Some illegal activity can be just depending on CONTEXT.

Respect for only the RIGHTEOUS AND MORALLY CORRECT LAWS is necessary for a functional democracy.

Laws that protect pigs from righteous vengeance are obviously morally incorrect laws and therefore should not be followed.

And with this we quite neatly circle back to my initial post...

They may have caught him!!!

A man in Altoona, Pennsylvania, was stopped with a fake New Jersey ID and is being held for questioning in connection with the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York City, law enforcement sources told ABC News.

The man had walked into a McDonald's where a witness recognized him from the images circulated by police, sources said.

The man had a similar gun to the one used in Wednesday's assassination-style killing outside a Midtown Manhattan hotel, the sources said. Altoona police also recovered a computer.

Maybe

Here is another story on why people are so angry at insurance companies like United Healthcare.

According to a report published by the subcommittee in October, UnitedHealthcare’s denial rate for post-acute care grew from 10.9 percent in 2020 to 22.7 percent by 2022.

Doctors also weighed in from their standpoint, with some physician commenters on Reddit reflecting on their poor experiences with the company that convinced some to stop accepting UnitedHealthcare as a carrier.

Dr. Helen Ouyang, an emergency physician, penned an op-ed in The New York Times on Sunday. Ouyang condemned the responses taking glee in Thompson’s killing, but wrote about how her own patients struggled to navigate their precarious health-care coverage.

“That reaction, even in its objectionable vitriol, matters for how it lays bare Americans’ deep-seated anger toward health care,” Ouyang wrote. “Around the country, anecdotes were unleashed with furor.”

22.7%.
Let's get that up to 50% and buy more yachts.

Personally, I had a family member be told repeatedly that their insurance would cover a surgery, they had the surgery a month later, and then was told they owed $30000 because they were out of network.
It messed them up so bad that they skipped the medical system entirely, until ending up in hospital with a serious problem.

More personally, my in-network hospital sent me a big bill because *one* of the doctors was out of network.
At least this practice is now against the law. (I think)

=================

I had no idea, but the CEO's family endured bomb threats hours after his murder.

Hours later, Maple Grove police say that a bomb threat was received at around 7 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson's residence. No suspicious devices or items were found. Police said the incident appears to have been a hoax and they are investigating.

A CAD report of the incident reveals that Maple Grove's city attorney received the threat in an email. The email claimed that a pipe bomb had been dropped off.

A bomb squad was deployed to the location but did not find any explosives. Police interviewed several people at the scene, including family members, all of whom said they hadn't seen anything suspicious.

We can notice that the police seems to have deployed a LOT more efforts to catch the guy than the hundred of regular murders of regular Joe.
Maybe that's also one of the reasons the people are angry.

Damned straight.

Solid odds that every murdered prostitute was a greater benefit to society than this fella.

Oh, you want to "defund the police"?? If you get robbed, who's gonna show up 4 hours later and shoot your dog?

No it doesn't. There are caveats to whether or not all laws should be respected in the name of democracy. But instead your simple mind assumes that means all laws must be followed regardless the outcome of following them.

Some laws are racist, bigoted, and fascistic. Therefore it is in act in the name of democracy to illegally not follow them. And it is martyrdom if one gets caught (but ideally you don't want to get caught you want to keep challenging the system until it's overthrown)

Just a few days ago, a group of three men approached a 17 year old and an 18 year old in Manhattan, and asked if they spoke English. When the teens said no, the group stabbed them, killing one and wounding the other.

There has been no city wide manhunt, no sweeping central park water features for weapons, no press briefings.

Your worth as a victim in capitalism is directly equated to your wealth and status.

Anyways here is the dude’s fav books on goodreads and his twitter

Everybody Lies and Brave New World and The Lorax are great but he is a weird political amalgamation like the vast majority are, as he appears to be a big techno-optimist and likes Elon and Thiel. Degrades secularism. Also seems to be vegetarian at least (maybe vegan). Hates Tik Tok. Wants more mental health awareness. Hates private insurance. Likes Tucker Carlson and trad architecture. We are constantly ruled by median voter moments.

Welcome to the club. We’re going to have to endure this whole struggle session by the hands of lefties until we’re demoralized and become good little revolutionary red guards.

What struggle?

It's not a contradiction. This was an extra judicial killing.

Democratic way would be electing someone to change the law or people voting for the death penalty and applying it to the CEO.

America isn't a functioning democracy most don't have the death penalty. It's a flawed democracy academically oligarchy republic in practice.

Be interesting if anyone opposed to the death penalty is pro killing this guy.

Perhaps someone should look into the denial practices/policies of these corporations.

Had a relative who quit working for Blue Cross years ago. Couldn't take the stress.

They got POINTS for each denial! I'll let you figure out where that leads to.

Killing the CEO though, is not the answer. (not like that anyway)

Having said that, one could say that without doing something outrageous, nobody would look into said practices.

Something to ponder.
