With all these black tinted threads being thrown around, heres a change of pace.

Describe a moment of personal elation where you felt on top of the world, like you were really hitting your stride.

One I have is winning the Geography Bee in 6th grade and having the whole school applaud me. Boy was that sweet!:king:

Cross country running in 8th grade. My school had only six runners. Out of them I always finished 2nd to last (except once when I was a real slump and I finished last).

The second to last race of the season I felt so strong, the best runner's high of my life. I was strong right out of the box but not overdoing it. About a half a mile thru I passed the 4th best (3rd worst) runner, he looked at my somewhat shocked. About five minutes later I passed the 3rd best runner, he also looked at my somewhat shocked. By now I was somewhat amazed myself. Then I passed the #2 guy. I was amazed and elated for sure. Of course it wasn't a Hollywood ending. By the end of the race (3.1 miles) the three of them passed me again and I was back in 5th (probably about halfway thru the pack of 100 or so overall) but not by much. I still had my best time ever and felt amazing and untired afterwards. I wonder sometimes if I could have stayed ahead of the pack if I really believed in myself and was fiercely motavated (as opposed to simply being amazed with myself at the time).

Another time when I was younger and was at sleepaway camp (9 or 10 I think) I was out in a kayak during morning activity. For the most part I didn't like camp. I made only one or two friends there and not very close ones at that. I didn't like the food or the chores or my bunkmates. But that morning, out of the water, all alone, feeling the breeze and looking up at a mountain in the distance was a truly greatexperience . Nothing really changed on the outside but I felt really free for a few precious moments. I wasn't thinking about going back, the future or past at all. I felt one with my surroundings at it was really nice.

Hmm. There was this girl in college everyone liked, but turns out she liked me the most. She was a Scorpio as am I, so long term it didn't work out, but the short term was intense. Rest of story can't be told here.

On a more family friendly note: One of biggest would be my Freshman Year of High School on the track team. Tried out for the 440, 880 and 1 mile, being fourth best on the team in all three events. Very depressing at the time. :( Coach told me to run the two-mile, which I tried to refuse, but it was either that or do nothing, so I gave into the evilness of 8 laps. Turned out to be the best on the team (though some who would have been faster didn't run the 2-mile). Not only did I break two school records (two-mile & two-mile relay team), but was the only Freshman to get a Varsity letter in any sport my class. I never ran as well again I as did that year, which was kinda depressing/frustrating the next few years.

Getting the high school dux was preety good.

Getting a hug for practically no reason off a lovely girl. That was blissful...

And she likes me!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Oh yeah, that reminds me of a moment when I was midly depressed at one of the baording schools I was at. I was the waiter that week and clearing the table after dinner. She was also working in the cafeteria and all of a sudden ran up to me and gave me a big kiss on the cheek. That put a smile on my face that lasted the rest of the evening. Perhaps not worthy of calling a moment of "absolute elation" but certainly a fine little moment during a depressing time in my life. :)

right now actually

i'll copy my blog off myspace to show you how....

i went to customs at MTSU and talked to one of the radio guys and he said that its pretty easy to get on. i just have to do a 4 week internship

then i'll get my own time slot and i can play whatever i want as long as there is no cursing.......plus i'll get to hang out with bands too and they can play live. i've been wanting to do the radio since i first heard it......this is almost like my dream.......

i'll of course take requests, if they dont suck, from my friends. its gonna be great

plus the bass player for Against Me used to be the radio manager at MTSU so i sent them a message asking for advice and i got a message back from a friend of the band that said she would leave it in the inbox for him

oh, and for those who dont know......i have a new "interest" but if you wanna know contact me personally. i dont like posting things like that on here.........

so yeah. im thrilled

7 Febuary 2005 ~11:34am PST In front of the cafeteria at my school. I met my first girlfriend and asked her out.

We broke up May of that year, good riddance as she is a lunatic, but still my first girlfriend and it was fun whilst it lasted.

After a year of romantic hardship, I am finally in a position where such joy can be experienced once again.

I have just finished the final written exam for my class to become certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (Basic). The class lasted six months. I took the State Practical Exam last week and passed. I did not expect it and I just walked out of the building and screamed out in joy.

The first time I kissed my wife.

Yeah call it mushy if you want, but that's the best moment so far.

David Beckham's last minute free kick against Greece at Old Trafford in World Cup 2002 Qualifiers.

A whole country rejoiced at once. It was a damn good night later.

Other ones are mainly sport related, rugby matches I played an won in or the time I was chosen to play for GB (amateur but GB none-the-less). Also, like others I imagine, is when you finally get the girl you've been after for ages ;)

Taking the first prize in the INternational Guitar Contest from Velbert, Germany "Andres Segovia", winning the Sinaia festival with no age limit at the age of 14, being the first to skip a grade in my country, reaching 100 prizes in total, finding out that I might get a scolarship and move to UK or Germany for the next 3 years.

Most of mine are sports related to. The best moment was being in Sydney watching Australia qualify for the world cup for the second time. It was also the last Australia will have to go throught that sort of qualifying schedule like so it was special being there. The whole nation celebrated as one as a result and this meant that our odessey of being out of the greatest show on earth was no more. That was pure joy and every time I see John Aloisi's goal hit the back of the net, the feeling rush back to me and soon I will be watching Australia beat Japan in out first match. I can't wait.

The reason, I think, most of mine are sports related is because sport has the ability to bring you from the dejection of thinking you are going to lose to the elation of winning in a short space of time.

Seeing my son get born was a climax of a long process which I'd already mentally prepared myself for. Justifies living the arrival of The Boy out of his elation post :D

Being from Middlesborough I bet getting that first gasp of clean air was a moment of elation for you too ;)

When my son was born, and I hold him in my arms, he was just 5 minutes old

I have to admit I really felt on top of the world when My son was born.

I cried when I saw his little face. The best ever moment of my life.

Well, I've had plenty of sports related and relationship related moments, so just to be different, maybe I will mention a moment of elation in my proffessional life. My company had opened up an office in Austria and I was transferring over from our headquarters in Las Vegas. The Vice-President of my department took everybody in my department (something like 40+ people) out to a celebration lunch on my last day, paid for by the company, and gave me a going-away toast. This was a real highlight career moment.

Let's see....

Being pleasantly surprised by some grades last semester (a projected B that was an A-, and an A- that was an A)

Rushing the field after last year's FSU win

That's all I can think of at the moment.
