Dictator II (MGE Edition) PBEM

It seems i messed up the order of play, so in fact USA is next. I have edited my post so that the order of play is now correct.

Sorry about that!

Nothing much happened, but again, America pleads for the world to realize the problems with war, and to stop the madness.

Pap

After the shocking defeat in France, Great Britain is not rapidly doing its best to prepare for the comming struggle to liberate Europe from the German Madman.

We ask our American friends to understand the importanse of joining Britain in the liberation of France. If we do not act now, it may be too late.

Alot of unrest in India have put alot of strain on the local government there.

*British forces attacked the Italian and German forces stationed in North Africa. The fortress east of Tobruk captured.

The Soviet Union does not want to be involved in this war of destruction.

But any attack on the russian motherland will be met with lethal power, and eventually the destruction of the aggressor

/Josef Stalin

Did'nt happen anything important.

Isn't this supposed to be an open season version? Why am I not allowed to cancel alliances and declare war?

erm, this may be my bad...
From the house rules SAS posted I assumed that we were using the "normal" not the "open season" version. Can you negotiate with anyone? IIRC in the normal version you can negotiate freely with Neutral allies and Eastern allies, but no-one else.

Did you read the house rules in the first post?

That sucks! Even though I love this scenario, what's the point in playing this PBEM when we can't decide where whom to attack? We could ask Curt to make an even 'opener season' version, to make this scenario more interesting.

Mabe I didn'tmake myself clear, we are currently playing the "closed season" version NOT the "open season" one, so there are restrictions to negotiations not there in the "open season", BTW we better all make sure we are playing with the same version here.

Curt has already made an "open season" version (where the USA can invade Britain or whatever). We could start again with that version, but I think we should carry on playing this one. SAS can you clear this up, I assumed from the house rules that we were NOT using the "open season" version, was that your intention, we should all be clear on which version we are playing.

Very well then. What will it be? Should I just play the one posted by sas? The one with restrictions? Or the one posted by you (Greeny)?

I'm playing the closed Season version. And the reason i wanted to use that version was because i wanted to try to keep things "historically" correct. A US invasion of Britain or an US Alliance between Japan is simply too incredible for my taste.

I'm sorry if this is not what you signed up on. But i did state this in the house rules.

I would also like to keep the alliances as they where in WW2, but I think the axis, at least, should be able to for example attack American and British targets around the globe. Ohwell, I don't think I want to continue. It's not much fun when you know exactly when every invasion starts. Then it won't come as a surpise. No room for improvisation.

I hope I didn't hold you guys too much up. I you do not find a replacement, I will of course continue :)

Now I'm lost. Are you saying that Germany cant attack USA and Britain around the globe? If that is so, i must have missed that one. I thought the closed season only meant that you could not change relations that contradicted the WW2 treaties.

Anyone who can inform me/us??

Well the closed season forces all diplomatic issues. IE Barbarossa, US declaration of war etc. all happen on the turn they should. I think you should use open season, too. You could always make a house rule saying all alliances cannot change. :) It just wouldn't be fun if you could not attack when you wanted.

I couldnt agree more!

Sorry people, it seems i misunderstood what closed season really was. :( Obviously, a PBEM where you cant attack your enemy at your own timetable is not acceptable. So i think we have to start the game over.

EDIT: Greeny, the link/update you posted, was it open season or closed season? Because i am positive i downloaded that update. And the link to the update in my first post refers to that link.

Sorry if i seem to ramble, i'm at work right now... :crazyeye:
