I am what's termed a 'Baby Boomer', though somewhat late. There's 'Generation X','Y' and whatever. You can tell your generation here if you dunno.

Well, Clint Eastwood called millennials "The Pussy Generation". His interview with Esquire is here...

Think his name for the new generation will stick?

Youtube is starting to pick up on it.

the TL;DR for any topic involving Clint Eastwood:

You should get the millenials -> snake people extension
Snake people are the cloaca generation. They're always acting like they're walking on snake egg shells and they have thin skin, while older generations could just shed their emotional problems.

It seems to me that "millenial" already has sticked more than "Generation X", so no

"Millenial" is already a meme, and terms for a gen using genitals won't catch up beyond a niche, i suppose :o
Btw, when the term means "easily scared" or similar, does it tie to kittens or not?

It's actually a rather interesting interview (yes, I read the whole thing). But I don't like that "generation term".

It's a good thing that this isn't what most of the interview is about, and he did say he regrets doing that talking to the chair thing.

Well, let's take on this "pussy generation" term.

It brands us as weak, perhaps too sensitive, perhaps too influenced by feminism and "SJWs".

... I don't think it amouts to anything else than that.

Coming from a feminist perspective - "Pussy generation" is portraying some pretty toxic masculinity there. I honestly don't think it amounts to more than that. The term is actually kind of pathetic in that sense.

Certain reactionaries tend to mark these new developments as weakness. It's some pretty amateurish PR work. The reason the things have been succesful has been because of intellectual coherence and legitimate anger.

The Old Man Yells At Cloud fits it quite right.

I can't help thinking of that song from Paint Your Wagon (not sure who actually sang it, but it was supposed to be Clint Eastwood's character): "I talk to the treees, but they don't listen to meee..."

Boomers are more 'pussy' than millenials. They're soft, fat and entitled.

Not talking about anyone here but in general.

Whoa, watch it bud, you messin with my people...

/offt

I met this girl 2 years ago. She was 18. She cut wood for living in summers. She was studying medicine at the time. She was anti- soft, entitled and fat as a girl can get.

She was a pure bear. Fierce, angry, imperious. She knew what she wanted. She was a woman, definitely, but something just said about her "Don't even try to think about messing with me". Okay, she came from a very small city with strong roots in ancient rites. She was all about power. But come on, a girl like that can wipe your mind clean about all this generation cliche

Sure, absolutely! Tuff stuff that.

they filmed Dirty Harry on our mountain (the scene at the giant concrete cross). I didn't see Eastwood but one of my friends got a small part in the movie as one of the kids on the school bus

Isn't this the same guy who argued with an empty chair?
Yes. It's amazing how many posters here don't appear to have actually read the article.

He didn't really think he was talking to an invisible person. It was an attempt at making a point through "drama" and even he now realizes it was a dumb thing to do.

It's called early-onset senility

If we millennials are so bad, surely the fault lies with those who raised us?
