I can NEVER seem to get to stonehenge, the CPU always beats me to it, as well as religions/pantheons in general. I play on Prince, which AFAIK is the "Normal" difficulty under the balance patch. I play with Vox Populi, the latest release (9/7).

Any help or info?

1. Farming Process until Pottery
2. Have 3 pop when you got Pottery.
3. Work those hills
4. Stonehenge.

I do it at Deity all the time.

What about difficulty handicaps with VP? At what difficulty are they the most level between player and AI?

Its quite buildable on any difficulty. Farming process helps. The other thing you can do is build a monument like 90% complete, then drop gold into it. It will overflow the hammers from the monument into stonehenge, letting you use some of the pre-pottery hammers

If you don't get a culture ruin I don't think you can get it,even at lower difficulties. I always get pottery way faster than I get my first policy, how do you guys go straight pottery->stonehenge?

Meet culture CS

Yay someone uses the farming process! :)

G

haha, I do when have a few turns and nothing to build, or to finish off a pop before I start a settler. Going straight farm from the beginning is something I never would have thought of. That sounds like something I'll have to try.

Wow at investing in a monument @ 90%, too. WOW. Mind blown gif. I didn't know you could use investment like that.

Edit: Well now I don't feel so bad about all of the times I just invested in something cuz I wanted to move onto the next building, when it had like 4 turns left.

That's the whole point of the game. You constantly find ways to improve and be more efficient, then laugh when noobs say it can't be done.

Another idea: don't build Stonehenge. IMO one of the most useless wonders in the game, 10% increase in production cost for all other wonders just kills it

You can beat Deity, if so, what civ you use? Also, religion is a must for levels above emperor?

Strongly depends on map settings. religion is not a must. I don't think any civ is playable on deity/standard speed/pangea. However on epic pangea - pretty much any civ can work

Rome is probably one of the best thick civilization on Deity, Legionaire stands pretty proud and strong with Forts and a Godlike Pillum promotion. I don't usually seek religion, but if I can't afford to found one, I'll start trading with civs that offer the best follower beliefs and spread from their beliefs there.

what mods you use?
CPMC, WCR, UCS.

I've won multiple games with these exact settings

I think he meant you cant use whatever civ you want because not all of them are strong enough. Not that every civ isn'nt strong enough. To prove him wrong you will have to win a game as every single civ on those settings. Will take much more than 20 minutes :)

Why race for a useless wonder
Are you saying that all that faith is useless? Because its clearly not, its a really good boost towards getting a religion and several strategies work really well with stonehenge. The engineer point is really valuable this early (early on engineers will complete any wonder, even if the cost gets bumped up by existing wonders)It also counts as a world wonder for various synergy strategies

Ahh. You're right. I love English. :p

Name some civs you think are too weak. I'll endeavor to prove you wrong.
