DipNES04 - Uncertain Times

I shall attempt to play England, I have very little experience with this game, and I figured that instead of feeling the humiliation of my friends laughing at me over the game board, I can instead suffer the humiliation of someone laughing at me from 2,000 miles away. :p

I shall try Russia I guess then :)

dldnjstjr has just indicated his intent to take Norway. This means we can start soon.

I'll put a tentative deadline of Wednesday, June 11, at 8:00 PM, PST, for orders. This gives lots of time to do opening diplomacy and to learn how the game works.

Sounds great. I have no experience with Diplomacy but I have read up on the rules a bit and I believe I have a solid understanding of it all. When I send my orders if they seem a bit out of whack it would be good if you could let me know what i've done wrong so I can try get them right for the next set.

Oh, I'll just add that when sending me your orders, you can fill out a completely optional section!

It's the Statement of Intent/War Aims section that I just made up right now. See, when GMing this game, all I can do is guess at alliances and deliberations. But if you could summarize the way things are going with me...it'd help me in giving awards and make it more interesting for me, giving me an incentive to write more dumb stories. Okay, I'll admit perhaps that was a disincentive. But it gives me an incentive to update more on time when I have a vested interest in the way things are going.

ATTENTION ALL NATIONS OF EUROPE:

The army in Constantinople will be moving to Bulgaria.

Dibs on reserve player!

Ill let qoou move ahead of me. He hasnt gotten the chance to play a Diplomacy game on the NES forums.

Not to rush anyone, but orders are due on Wednesday. So far, I have orders in from everyone except these countries:

Norway
Russia
England
Italy

Which is, you know, cool, since you guys still have like two days to turn them in.

Also, from now on, I'm going to insist that orders be titled in this fashion:

DipNES04 - Country - Turn - Time

So were Norway to turn in orders now, it would be titled "DipNES04 - Norway - 1 - Spring 1914".

The crazy titles I've gotten...:p

Damn, another Diplo game I missed...

I'll watch from the sidelines and have fun instead.

germanicus12, you're about 12 hours late or so and I haven't seen a peep of England's orders! Should I substitute someone else in?

I notice that a lot of people, like me, missed these signups. And that there may almost be a full cast for a second game running. Hmm... ;)

MESSAGE

I've decided. If I don't have in my inbox germanicus12's orders for England by 10:00 PM PST (that's in 6 hours and 14 minutes) than I shall award the position to qoou, who will have 48 hours to get updated on diplomacy and to decide opening moves.

MESSAGE

All right, qoou, you're tapped. Orders are due Saturday, June 14, by 10:00 PM PST.

I'd run one, though since normal Diplomacy bores me slightly I wonder if anyones interested in playing this map:

Spoiler :

I'd play it. That looks interesting. Did you make the map yourself? If not, does this variant have a name?

I made the map partially traced of a Versailles europe map, also where the canal idea comes from, the idea of boxes showing the oceans is from Youngstown diplomacy, I decided against the youngstown idea of including asia though ;).

Therefore I dub it: super-duper-mega-awesome Diplomacy!

I'd play for sure. Are all nations with colors on that map playable, including Greece and Sweden-Norway?
