I play advanced start raging barbarians immortal/deity generally and getting hit with stasis on turn 2 and then overrun by barbarians and losing the game because of it makes me want to smash my monitor. Where are the world spell files and how can I disable specific world spells in them? I'd also like to disable reign of blood, the calabim world spell, which is also obnoxious and terrible in single player. hlp plz.

Well, you can disable them by clicking the little box when starting a custom game (highly recommended), but that disables all worldspells. As for specific ones, I believe that you can modify them out via the Civ4SpellInfos.xml, but I am not certain that would be the only thing that you would have to modify (Note, do NOT do this with regular FFH 2 - make a copy of the folder, then modify that, in case the changes that you make mess up anything else, causing the game to become unplayable).

Open the CIV3SpellInfos.xml file and change bAllowAI for each spell from 1 to 0. This will keep it enabled if a hman is playing the Civ, but the AI will never use it.

Keep in mind that doing this will break your ability to play multiplayer games unless all the players make exactly the same changes. Also every patch you apply will set it back to being enabled so you would need to edit it again.

Sweet thanks

Wow, I've played many games vs. the Illians and they always seem to wait a while before casting stasis. Early stasis would basically win them the game via barbs (or I guess them vs the Clan), that is frustrating.

I like to cast Stasis early, but I've never seen the AI do it. If they did, and I got crushed, then I wouldn't have a lot invested in the game. Better to restart a game in the early turns than to play most of the turns and lose.

I've never seen them cast it anything before turn 100, I think. It is hard, but exciting to fend off the barbarians during stasis, IMHO. A tad boring, but hten the stasis thaws, and you remember what it was like to be able to build and research again. Yay!

I'm the same, i cast it on turn 3.

I don't like stasis at all. The AI doesn't know how to use it I think. In the hands of a good player it could be a very powerful tool. But in my sessions around 200 turns+ the Illians use stasis and nothing happens but plain and simple turn quitting. In most cases my army is strong enough to withstand barbarians and even if civs are furious they don't start a war (perhaps they fear to lose their units?). As I said ... it's just about clicking the 'end turn' button 30 times to have things back to normal. That's pretty boring as I don't play MP in most cases.
Stasis is even more unnerving than Loki ("Here I am!" "Here I am!" "Here I am" - argh!) or Hyborem who decides to take over one of my cities (his World Spell is my second nemesis right after stasis).
