Disnyland Rollercoast Accident

:( Just what we need, more bad news.

I have been on the ride over 15 times, no problems. It is a very fun ride.

Bad things just happen. :(

This is very sad. I was on that ride 3 weeks ago, and it really is one of my favorites. My heart goes out for that man.

Did anyone see at the bottom of the article, how many accidents they have? I don't know if it's the same one, but there's an article on www.nbc4.tv that showed other accidents, some quite recently. And on the same rides.

I don't want to go there anymore, either.

Worlds of Fun in KC might be small. . . but we've had very few accidents here lately.

Speaking of which, do they still have the Timberwolf there? That was my first roller coaster ever.

Just when I overcome my fear of rollercoasters and decide I will go on one next time we go...

Same here, I was planning to go to Six Flags over New England soon.

Sure its a shame and my sympaties go out to all the casualties and their families.
But look at the odds, how many people have ridden that ride since 1979? We've got to be talking millions.
It is just bad, bad luck.
As plexus says, bad things just happen.
Shame.

Yep. :) It was mine too.

Has anyone ever been to Blackpool Pleasure Beach? A grim north England attraction. Apparently they have 3 of the top 10 roller coasters in the world (according to some crazy roller coaster society guy.)
Thay have the scariest rides in the world. Only because you have to hang on by your knees as you go round 90 degree bends. On a wooden horse. With (what feels like) an elastic band to keep you in your seat.

I have been on that ride many times. It's kind of scary having been on that ride and then seeing someone die during it. I also felt the same way when that kid got killed a Drop Zone in Paramount's Great America in the South Bay.

Yeah, it's still there. . . going strong. They've been having problems with the Orient Express this year, but the T-wolf and the Mamba just keep on going. . .

Edit: Didn't see Pug's response. . . .

You still have a greater chance of being killed in an airplane crash than on a roller coaster.

OTOH, why subject yourself to even more risks?

I'm lucky. I was on the Thunder mountain ride (my favorite at Disneyland) and Drop Zone (my favorite at Paramount) at Paramount's great america. Those are horrible incidences and my condolences go to the unfortunate families:(

1 more post till 300, that's ironic:crazyeye:
