DMI V - Fata Morgana (BtS)

Are we patched for this game or are we going with 3.03?

Once upon a time, a little boy named Aladdin chanced upon an old, rusty oil lamp. He picked it up, rubbed it a few times, and POOF, out came a genie.

"I AM DJINNI. YOU FREED ME. FOR THAT, I GRANT YOU THREE WISHES."

"Hmmm ... are you the same genie that gives someone a thousand bucks and turned another into a six-inch pianist?"

"RIGHT. THAT'S ME."

"And aren't you the one who gave one wish each to three friends, transporting the first separately to a place of wealth and a place of lusty beauty, only to grant the third person shortly afterwards his wish of his friends being here with him?"

"HEHE, RIGHT. THAT'S A MEMORABLE ONE."

"Hmmm ... somehow I don't think any good would come up from your grant of wishes."

"WELL, YOU COULD WISH THAT MY HEARING IS PERFECTED, AND WISH THAT I WOULD NOT UNDO YOUR ALREADY WISHED WISHES, AND THERE, YOU HAVE YOURSELF A THIRD WISH WITH NO WORRY WHATSOEVER."

"Uh-uh, I don't think so."

"OR YOU COULD WISH THAT I TELL YOU WHAT TO DO WITH THE GREAT GENERAL."

"I already know what to do, I am going to settle him as instructor. We already had a super-medic, we don't need more production bonus seeing as we now can build nothing but units.

DMIV-AD0150-generak.jpg

Great General is easy, it is Great Scientists that I don't know what to do with."

"AHHH.... OKAY. <* magic chimes *> THERE, YOU KNOW HAVE A GREAT SCIENTIST. NOW YOU CAN WISH THAT YOU I TELL WHAT TO DO WITH HIM."

"Hmmm ... nope, I don't think so. I will send him to the capitol and let other worry about the scientists."

DMI-AD0150-scientist.jpg

"ARGGH ... YOU ARE A HARD ONE TO GRANT WISHES TO!!!!"

"Not a bit, if only I know what to do with settler."

*eyes brightens up* "OKAY. <* magic chimes *> YOU NOW HAVE ONE MORE SETTLER. SO, DO YOU WISH THAT I TELL YOU WHAT TO DO WITH HIM?"

"Of-course not! Geez, we already had one settler idling? What's the point of one more????"

"#$%%&*(()!"

"On the other hand, I always have difficulty to decide on civics change."

"OKAY, THERE, <* magic chimes *>, YOU LEARNT MONARCHY. NOW YOU CAN WISH THAT I TELL YOU WHAT TO DO WITH CIVIS CHANGE."

DMIV-AD0375-civics.jpg

"Ha! There is only one choice. I don't need you to tell me what to do with it!"

"AARRGGHHHHHHH!"

And the genie exploded into a puff of smoke and was restrained back to the lamp. And that's the story of how Aladdin got three freebies without even wasting a wish on the hearing-impaired djinni.

* * * * *
Well, I settled the general, and as for the scientists, I suggest an academy in capitol, since it has the most potential for beakers. But up to team to decide.

I spread buddhism to one city, while one more BudMiss is on its way. However, we now have Monarchy. I have not revolted yet, but i suggest we do to get rid of red-shirts.

I have only been fighting barbs, and stack of units is now amassing nicely near Madrid. Suggest moving it out to continue in search for Scheherazade.

We already had a settler, yet is building another? I can only guess that it was to slow growth (and we have nothing better to build). So, now, Imhotep have 2 settlers to decide where to settle

Research is set to Masonry. This is to enable the Haman, which would bring +2 happy faces on top of the +2 health.

Don't know, he gave seemingly contradictory information in his last post:

·Imhotep·;6025262 said:
... I will skip myself due to work (everybody loves sunday work  ) and chime in after GreyFox...

First he said "skip" --> which implies Berserks01 should be UP now.

Then he said "chime in after GreyFox" --> which suggested a "swap" rather than a "skip", implying he is UP now (unless of-course "chime in" means something other than playing).

So, i would suggest berserks01 take it , unless Imhotep says otherwise.

These were pretty quick ten turns. First of all I built the Academy at our Capital as this will be a major science city in our realm.

Speaking of science: Masonry came in, unlocking our uber-aqueducts.

Our biggest problem right now is maintenance costs. Therefore I went for CoL next.

13958060hc8.jpg

Fopunded Bursa at the shores of the Great River (which I'd like to call Anduin :D ).

The other settler is waiting there with an Archer for ferrying once we have a ship (and can afford it !).

We get another GP in 7 turns. We should decide what to do with him.

If it is a Prophet I'd suggest settling him at our Capital (or at Madrid) unless he can bulb a religion.

Once CoL is in we should be in a very strong position. I didn't move our army as this would have caused strike immediately.

Hmmm ... we have Hereditary Rule available and we're not switched over? So I switched over. And the red face in Ankara immediately fled the town.

We still have lots of unscouted land, so a scout was ordered up and ready to leave our border for some scouting.

We got a GS, and he can lightbulb Alpha. So I left him at Istanbul.

I think on my very last turn a city was planted right outside Madrid next to our stack, if I remember correctly.

I want to wait and see if he can pop something else once CoL comes in. If not, then I'd do Academy in the capital or at Madrid.

I start Hanging Gardens in the capital, just so I'm not building endless troops.

Code of Laws comes in, replaced by Fishing (which is replaced by Sailing). GS still will only bulb Alphabet

After Sailing, I choose Currency as we can use the markets.

I whip a round of courthouses and a library in Madrid. The GS is sent here for a possible Academy.

So the only real issue arising out of my 10 turns is. What's over here?????

Oh, and what do these gentlemen want?

We should probably move our stack to the copper and make a stand there.

The economy is slowly improving, if there was a decent site over yonder we could settle one more city (settler in Bursa) or even south of Madrid once we can get Dye.
