Congratulations on another fine performance especially to those who did the majority of the fighting only to leave the showboaters to turn up at the end for the glory!!!

If only I had listened to Ralph and razed and resttled probably could have shaved a few turns off the finish date.

Kickass. A very solid performance from this team. It's been great teaming up with you all!

Good work and nice job team. A competitive game but with a really fun atmosphere which is a great combination IMHO. Thanks Ozbenno for leading us through it :goodjob:

Now does this mean we can start the friendly banter  in the other teams threads??

Ralph

An enjoyable game with a great team! :hatsoff:

I'm a bit surprised these Cossacks lasted this long. My first time playing with them at the lower strength. Even with the reduction, they are still quite strong!

I wasn't too surprised, I played a Genghis domination game a while ago and fought the last few wars with Cavalry vs Rifles and still found them pretty effective.

Awesome job team! Vanilla was definitely the way to go..... I doubt many people picked it up ever since BtS, thus our shock in learning that we lost out on them uber-Cossacks. Whats next for the team? We can't let Ralph get rusty with his skills.

I'm still looking to start my own series of SGs, but my first idea takes quite a bit of preparation on my part (I wouldn't even be playing that one), and my second needs some organization too... perhaps Immy has something new tucked up his sleeve?

@Kodii:

Yes I have. DMI VIII will finally start next week :)

Final report, as usual please add/delete as necessary

Thank Immy for a great concept. All agreed that the dusting of the Vanilla disks and marauding with Cossacks was great fun :goodjob:

The "Bye, Bye Hatty" screenie didn't load for me. :( Might need to be checked.

Nice train to be on, all. You guys were extremely impressive. Some of the other games are a more interesting read, though, because their play wasn't as good and they're not as dominant as y'all.

Arathorn

I've checked out the other two thread and we'll have the earliest win for sure, not even certain if the other teams will win at all, so our main objective is met. Given the weird scoring system however, if any of he other teams actually win they will certainly score more points that us as the score system rewards late finishing with lots of warring.

@Arathorn - thanks for the kind words and I'll reload the Bye Bye Hatty screenshot.

Going by the tenets of "qui tacet consentire", I'll post our final summary.
Since I had to google "qui tacet consentire" to find out what it means, I shall reply with "quando omni flunkus, mortati".

On another note, I'm rather surprised how well we did compared to the other 2 teams. Especially the Warlords team. I thought the Warlords folks made an absolutely brilliant move when they settled their 3rd city to block off Hatty. I've gotta be honest ... I was really concerned about our game when Hatty beat us to the sugar/rice city down south. And I got down right worried when she was spamming Settlers all around us. Turned out to be a non-issue, though, in our game. But I'm still surprised at how much the Warlords team has had to struggle after making that unarguably key move.

I must admit to the same thought reading the Team Warlords first summary post, ie "that move was brilliant, why didn't we think of that and we're in big trouble".

I think our advantage was having a really solid plan of how to win the game, and sticking to it all the way through. We knew what we were trying to do and we just go down to doing it. The Warlords and BTS teams got bogged down in wars where they didn't have technological advantages, allowing Huayana to race ahead while they slogged away at Hatty. We were able to focus on getting our technological advantage, allowing very quick wars.

Having said that I do think we should pat ourselves on the back as we did play a good game.

Yeah, you are probably correct. We were pretty focused on getting our hands on those Cossacks. Of course, we thought they were strength 18. But I guess that is a different story ...
