I'd be in southern China and Southeast Asia, with colonies on Pacific Islands like Hawaii, and South America.

Daft, does my economy recover this turn? I was making two steady before the South African war, and this one point a turn is killing me. I see no reason why I should suffer like the others!

I'm, Mongolia, if it never fell that is, making up most of Russia perhaps, with a rebelling China mangaing to break free of my grasp.

Videssos is that European part of Russian that was independent of the main Horde, with a Byzantine flair to it.

Mycenea or what was Mycenea and Tusca reminds me of Greece and Italy respectively.

Umidia tends to highlight a lot of the Ottoman Empire in position and past.

Anguile, being under Panda, was no doubt France. As Farrow's Germanica is no doubt Germany Since you, Lucky, took over the HRE kind of a mesh between France/Germany/Britain... maybe? I suppose the closest you could get is a France right after the 100 year war...

And Antal is... just plain weird. I mean, I see all sorts of elements in them, mostly Byzantine, but a lot of Middle-Eastern culture remains as well. I'd say Byzantines most likely, along with alot of Roman Empire adds as well. Possibly Persian.

For some reason, and perhaps because their in Asia, I look at Ormash and the Orions as being Korea, divided. Ormash being the more mercantile seems to resemble South Korea, while the industirous and militaristic Orions take on elements of North Korea. Also because they have alot of mountains.

I made the HRE just not to be mistaken. But yes. I can get Europe mainly correct but the rest of the word the empires are way to large for the areas and don't make sense. I will post something once I finish working on it. It is also tricky working backwards.

lurker's comment: Antal is quite interesting in its multiculturalism (I wrote a story about that way back). However, it is not Byzantine at all, or at least wasn't originally. The two predominant cultural influences there came from Argos (which is vaguely Greek) and Altyn-Kanalat (which is Khazarian/Turkic). The Aahnad Empire united them, and also brought in a Librian (Germannic) influence. Under the Agrinese Empire, the Argosian influence grew more and more significant, especially after the One Hundred Years War, but the Altynian and Librian influences remained (as could be seen in such names as Karlyk). Lastly, Antal itself was a more crude "frontier culture", inheriting the aforementioned combination but partially going back to the Librian and Turuk (Turkic barbaric) roots, and with a military/feudal flair as well (plus Videssian religious influence). I haven't been following cultural developments since the rise of the Antalese Empire too closely, but it would seem that its official culture has become more courtly, sophisticated and, well, imperial. That is parallel but not at all identical to OTL Byzantine and Persian official cultures.

Actually out of all the Graecian civilisations Agre - and thus, to a certain extent, Antal - resembles most the Alexandrine/Diadochi Hellenistic culture, as opposed to the Byzantine one. Though religion has grown in prominence, so I see what you mean.

Videssos is Byzantine by definition.
