The Basilevs expresses no interest in joining your struggle, however he requests that both sides make peace, so that the flow of trade and development can continue. The Antalese Empire will retain trade and diplomatic connections with both nations.

*Tuscan citizens celebrate the bill of rights and duties!*

Heres something im working on. I was thinking about a new UU list thing, and then I was thinking about graphics for the UU’s...

Antalese and allies:

These Thulean graphics are still unfinished:

I like the Civ2 style graphics. As well as being small and easy to edit, I think it gives you a nice idea of how things look in this NES, without being too specific. I didn’t make any of these from scratch, they are all copied or edited from other people’s efforts (mainly Fairline).

I think I will post some more soon, becaue im having fun with this :). If anyone disapproves of any graphics, or has ideas how UU's should look, feel free to let me know.

Cool, shiny icons! Better yet, shiny icons of MY soldiers! That's a great plan, Daft.

You know, you could even include reduced icons on the map, to signify army placement, and what type of troops there are. If it's not too much work, it would be really cool.

Ormash has offered to make peace, but the Tianese have refused to act as a civilized nation should. The blood that will follow is on their hands.

@Iggy and Thlayli, Thanks!

Im not actually sure if im going to put these on the map itself, I'll need to see how that works. It was just a bit of 'fun' and maybe to illustrate the UU's a bit more.

@Thlayli, how are the Legionaries and Saraian guard, compared to what you had in mind?

Edit: NPC DIPLO

We will offer Ormash growing support, to counter the growing threats of the Phosist alliance.

The Saraians are just about perfect. The Legionaries seem a little archaic though, and their guns are a little more like an arquebus, with a supporting spike into the ground. Also, their armor is slightly more plate, and less scale, but they still look great.

We thank you for your aid.

Ok, orders time! Slavic Sioux has already sent his (thanks!).

ORDERS DEADLINE: Is hereby set to wednesday night unless theres a good reason to delay it.

Well I finished the Thulean graphics. I had fun with this but i think ill stop for now :D

@Thlayli, thanks for the info. I'll see about getting better pics for them.

lurker's comment: Unit icons - especially the one for the Baghatur, that's precisely what I had in mind - approved.

And good work so far, Thlayli. Yes, I've been watching your progress quite carefully here. The Mandate of Das remains with you, for now. ;)

Hmm, sadly I see worse things than emperor Palpatine every time I look in the mirror :(

@das, there were no Antalese orders for the past two turns, so I think I should get the credit :p

@Luckymoose, that looks cool :) I’ve found a ton of medieval unit graphics, here are some others I though could be HRE stuff, with a bit of editing (I was thinking of doing something with them at some point):

Where are you finding these? And I could work with some of those.

EDIT: I always saw my troops as looking like the Teutonic Knights.

@Luckymoose, i trawled through some threads at Apolyton, and downloaded some civ2:Test of Time scenarios for the unit graphics.

I know some C++/OpenGL programming, and for a while i was working on my own little strategy game. I didn't get very far (a working battle screen, a scrolling world map, but the rest is still on hold :) ), but i collected a whole load of graphics to use in the process. Mainly the recent graphics by Fairline, which i like the look of. I have a load of napoleonic/indsutrial/modern graphics too, which i hope will appear in this NES eventually (if people keep playing for a few more years lol :) )

I always saw my troops as looking like the Teutonic Knights.

Hmm, then what do Germanica's troops look like? :)
