Just curious. By Latin Americans i mean Latin Americans of European descent.

I consider anyone who came out of the Caucasus and migrated South and East white, and therefore i consider Latin Americans as white.

Edit: Poll up.

Sure, if they want me to think of them as white, why not? But that's kind of irrelevant, though, as it makes more sense to think of them as their nationality where they are citizens. Mexican, Honduran, and so forth.

Definitely most of them are white. The fact that some of them are darker doesn't change the fact that most of them are white. There are blacks in Germany, that doesn't mean that most Germans are anything else than white.

Moreover, most North Africans are pretty white too. And most Turks. And most of the Roma too.

I find calling them anything else than white a veiled attempt of discrimination (unless it's done because "everyone else calls them so", with which BTW I disagree too, but from a totally different point of view). Which, indirectly, discriminates towards other non-whites too.

I'm latin-American, and if you look at me in the picture thread, you're going to think i'm a white dude.

Some Latin Americans are white. Some are black. Some are mestizo. Some are descended only from the precolonial indigenous people. Some are far-east Asian. My wife is from Peru, and she and her whole family are mestizos. By the way, my mom is from Cuba and she's white. I'm white too. And I don't consider myself as Latin American at all.

And "Latin American" isn't a race except on government forms.

Is this mildy racist? No offence but why ask that? Colour means nothing? It really does, scientifically we differ so little it's not even funny...

And here comes the:

\rant Odd question no? I think I actually despise white people more than any other colour on Earth as we are the biggest set of ignorant pointless idiots ever to grace God's Earth. And we actually think we are better than x, in what way our ability to be stupid hypocritical, judgemental, and foolish?
I am ashamed and deeply ashamed of even the idea that colour matters, it shouldn't it doesn't and no one outside of bigotry college should care one jot. :)/rant.

This thread is interesting though all rants aside. Bookmarking this one. :D

Latin America is such a melting pot... take Brazil, for instance.

This Brazilian is not white:

And you have everything in between and even more extreme.

Conclusion: Latin Americans can not be bundled under one skin color.

The majority of people in Central America are mestizo, so no not really.

Impossibal to say.

Depends on their skin's pigment.

I couldn't care either way.

I would consider some Italians, Greeks, Spaniards, and Portuguese to not be white either.

btw it's an opinion poll, i'm not saying are latin americans good enough to be white anything. My mom is Venezuelan so i consider myself part latin american to. (i don't think anyone would be racist to there own race).
