It all depends on what definition of intellectual you're going for. If it's leaning towards rationality and scientific inquiry throughout your life, then I would say yes as would most of OT. But, intellectualism is often a misused word used by people who dabble in philosophical BS.

Of course not, I'm a freaking physics undergraduate student. An intellectual creates knowledge. It's a very explicit class of people. Mere studiers of knowledge, people who are smart, or people who study the works of intellectuals do not count. Engineers are not part of the intellectual class as they apply knowledge instead of creating it.
