Do you have any hobbies?

I make terrain for minis ......... well when I have time.

Aside from Civ (III) I like to listen to music and watch films on DVD.
I have a fine collection of empty whisky bottles, and whisky labels (that's an expensive and time-consuming hobby).
I also enjoy baking.

Apart from that i create civ3 graphics from time to time :)

that's absolutely fantastic varwnos :goodjob: . i haven't played civ3 for a long time time, but i might do just to d/l some new graphic packs.

i used to paint ad&d figures (and make some, i still have the moulds). i don't really have the time anymore. my hobby now is going to the pub on a friday night.

You consider video games a hobby?

You mentioned it once before. Pics?

Also, why make terrain, if you dont have minis or play? just curious.

I have mentioned it before. And I do have pics. I have a few minis but thats not really what I focus on. The terrain is pretty much just a large ,2x4 foot, display base that lights up and has moving parts.

Spoiler :
River with 3D layering of stuff in a resin 'water'. the Boat is a full keel and if you were 25mm tall totally see worthy. The circuit boards are blue LEDs that light up the water. Don't mind the dust.

Lights on. The camera doesn't pick up all the light so the blue stretches farther then what you see.

Made some corn out of flower wire ( the green kind) green tissue paper and little clay corn cobs.

A well that really cranks. Its made on a CD and I need to smooth it out so it blends seamlessly. There is a building with clear plastic windows and it lights up too. Its the first thing I ever made so it has some flaws.

I'm working on a still with a flickering LED fire under it.

Draw bridge that really works with a hand crank and real counter weights so I can put it half way up and leave it there. It also has a nice offset wood lay.

Bush and some fencing.

Horses and fence and a corn field that has no corn yet.

10 inch tall mountain topped by a Reaper dragon. I used it to practice dry brushing and colour mixing.

Spoilers for those poor souls with 56k.

nice...I'd like to see the warthog battle it out with the reaper dragon ;)

I have a few.

I'm a musician. (Drums and Harmonica). Until recently, I played out fairly often with my blues band (work commitments make it hard to do that on a regular basis now). I mostly "session" now, playing at various open mics, and for bands that need an extra guy that night.

I also love sports. I play in a rec basketball league (shooting guard/small forward), and watch sporting events on tv with friends a lot.

Play MMOs with my small group of RL friends. We have played or playtested a large number of them. We are currently playing Pirates of the Burning Sea and are thinking of taking a look at Conan and/or Warhammer Online.

We also play civ4 teamed up against the computer, and other strat games as well. We were recently dicussing taking up Sins of a Solar Empire to see how it plays.

When we get together we play a variety of board games, like History of the World, House on Haunted Hill or that one based on the Cuthulu mythos where you randomly selected one of the old ones and try to banish it before the world ends.

We have also played a ton of various minitures games Current fave is "Flames of War'; but we have also played Warhammer 40k, Warhammer Fantasy battles, and various ancients rules.

All the while drinking beers and rum shots.

Fun stuff.

- I read a lot, lately mostly sci-fi (going through a Robert J. Sawyer series right now)

- Play in net for a local soccer team

- Love to cook, but haven't been doing it as much lately, as I'm living at 'home' saving for a down-payment on a house. Should be able to resume my culinary adventures sometime this summer.

- What I do at work is pretty much my hobby as well.. programming, designing, and developing web sites.

- Working with computer hardware is a de facto hobby, as I do it often enough.

- Computer games, of course, lately compromising mostly of Might & Magic: Dark Messiah, Civilization IV BTS, and Rock Band.

- Getting high and talking to my dog

Too much TV, too many computer games, reading, working out, learning Spanish as well as English. Wish I had time for some old-fashioned pen-and-paper RPGs but, alas, days are just too short on Earth.

Very nice terrain, Skadistic :)

i haven't played civ3 for a long time time, but i might do just to d/l some new graphic packs.

Civ3 is still very much alive; visit the c&c forum sometime :D A lot of new units, mods and static gfx are being made for it.

Hello Varwnos, good to see youre back!
