Do you honestly think there will be an expansion pack?

I doubt that they'll include DLC in an expansion pack.

I doubt that also, just because they wouldn't want to upset the people that bought the DLC.

But if it were like that, they should tell us in their own interest. I think many more people would buy the DLCs, when they knew for sure, that they'll not be contained in any expansion.

PS.: Not me. I already bought the DLCs, will continue to buy any new ones, and will not make an uproar, when they were contained in an expansion later. Just paid the bucks to get my hands on them earlier.

woops, misvoted. I think there'll be at least 1 proper expansion and later a collection of the DLC in retail. And later a complete edition with everything.

Where's the option for "Yes, it will include all of the DLC, plus new nations/leaders, but minimal new features (and those mostly pirated from CIV)."

I'm thinking that they will follow the example of Fallout 3, where DLCs were made for about 2 years. After that, they'll package all of it together and sell it as a bundle (Game of the Year edition lol) while they make Civ 6.

As an accountant I doubt they will offer new features as patches - this would impact their revenue recognition under US generally accepted accounting principles.

Charging for it avoids that.

I dont like DLCs too.

I think they are contributing for the games becoming more "dry".

For example, I cant see a reason why spain and the mongols arent present on vanilla other than the thought of "this civs would sell well on DLCs".

Almost everygame released on the last 2 years gives me this impression.

I hope that this extra money, or part of it, go towards a good expansion. im pretty sure CiV will have at least one and I dont think will bring the dlcs.

I agree with this good points dlc is runing many games civ 5 is no exception they release a striped down unfinished game but rush dlc out the door before getting the game in good working order.

Ironically, the DLC doesn't come off as rushed as the game.

There'll be an expansion for this game though.

It looks like they started to run out of money so they released the game, got more money, used that money to make DLCs which also made money and they're using all of it to patch the game and...make more DLCs.

So, I think it's all working up to an expansion pack. Eventually. Hopefully, that means the expansion doesn't come with all the problems CivV on release did but, hey, hopes high and all that.

Whatever it is they're going to bilk us for every cent they can before they send this bloated cash-cow's carcass floating down river.

I reckon there will be an expansion. I don't see why there wouldn't be. It would seem to make just as much economic sense as always. I would've thought people are more likely to buy an expansion with lots of things than piecemeal DLC.

Register some losses on predictable profits, never!

Expansions used to be known as iterated versions - not anymore... they went for online distribution, remember.

They wouldn't be a gaming corporation if they didn't.
