Do you really think Bush sucks?

His actions have made me so angry that I would rather see Bush out of office and on trial then Osama bin Laden. I would take anybody over Bush. Hell even Nixon or Carter would be a far better substitute. Everything he does almost always aggravates the problem.

Meh, Bush Sr. wasn't so bad. Weak, but did not actively cause problems. Coolidge was, IMO, undeniably worse - and also worse than Hoover. (Coolidge was really the one whose economic policies caused the Depression, but Hoover was President so he took the blame.)


In all American history, the worst five presidents were, IMO:

W. Bush
Grant
Coolidge
Harding
Buchanan

With Pierce, Nixon and Hoover not far behind. Carter gets less credit than he deserves, I think.


No president in recent history can even compare to the disaster that is George W. Bush.

I hate Bush. His invasion of Iraq was unjustified and his lack of ability to help the Katrina victims pushes the limit. He could have also captured Bin Laden if he had put men to the job then bombing the Sh*t out of Tora-Bora.

I agree. Senior Bush was pretty decent. What killed him was the breaking of the tax promise, but it had to be done.

All that W has going for him in my eyes right now is that he went to Afghanistan. But that's being ignored....

That the one thing that any President would have done. I think even Nader would have undertaken some military action in Afghanistan after 9/11. As it is now I suspect history will not be kind to this guy.

Most of greater economic problems that exist are not really Bush's fault. 9/11 obviously made things worse but I don't hold that against him either. I was against the Iraq war although when Saddam was captured I wondered perhaps things would get better and maybe it wasn't such a bad decision after all. It's not all the deaths that have already occurred, its all the violence still coming that concerns me. I don't know what much more he could have done about Katrina so I'm not going to hold that against him.

Many things can't be blamed on Bush. I don't why people blame Bush is to blame for Iraq. Yet Congress was the one to declare war. The president has very little direct power over the economy. He isn't the best President, but he sure is alot better than Clinton.

There was no declaration of war. Congress abdicated that power to the president.

Anyone find it funny that there's a post saying "Always an excuse"....then one excusing Bush?

I wouldn't say he sucks... but I wouldn't say he's good either. He's done some great things, and he's done some awful things. They mostly cancel eachother out.

He's easily the worste president in my lifetime. Hopefully it doesn't get any worse then him and homeland security is by far the dumbest name for a department. They should have given it a cool name like Section 9 or something, but I guess its fitting to give a worthless organization a stupid name...

I just realized...nobody will vote that Bush is compared to FDR. Because I haven't found a person that revers Bush AND FDR. Usually Bush is taken as the God and FDR the Devil.

I was alive during Watergate, still Bush is pushing Nixon for the title of worst president of my lifetime. He is certainly far less competent than Nixon though incompetence wasn't Nixon's issue.

I really disliked Reagan when he was president and still don't think highly of him. I would trade him for Bush in a second though.
