I think Ahmadinejad 'n' friends are attempting to bait an over-confident American administration into another expensive war,
hopefully draining America's recourses as was done to the Soviets in the 80s/90s by Afghanistan.
Perhaps they eventually hope America will be over-extended and will fall upon itself... in a sense the easiest way to topple an empire...

My question is that what is the nature of the relationship of Ayatollah Khamenei,the Council of Elders,the President Ahmadinejad influences on the Iranian Republican Guard?Who have the control of the army is what i am saying?

I would think most of the Guard shares the "tear-down-the-imperialists" feelings as Iranian officials do.

I would also think that nearly all Iranians and Americans would see a full-scale war as only exacerbating America's situation, or at least would cause more damage to America than Iran.

...But I don't really know...

Actually, I think Ahmadinejad is just firing up support for himself among his people. Nothing unites the people like evil Jew-American-Western-Imperialists.

I think and assume that the Iranian officials manipulate the people with the feeling of "tearing-down-the-imperialists" to exploit the passion of nationalistic pride.

Iranians have more to lose than United States does.So i think it is something else...

Eh, you never know, I guess Ahmadinejad does have elections to win in the future, and if he could be a nationalistic cult-hero that is always a plus...
