Dominion NES

They're all massed at my border and will capture both Caelum and Ural this update. If not then they should be, the more the merrier.

You know, I considered doing just that this turn.

why'd you decide not to?

I considered doing that 20minutes ago, meaning this turn. 10 units of Hydras and Serpent Priests have to be used somewhere, don't you think so? I decided not to because, after that loooooooooooong war and Ermor's death magic. IT may be in my interest to let my population grow back...a bit. As an advice KF, don't use tigers as your main attack force. They are much more for Sneaky tactics and raids.

Glaive infantry can be quite usefulwhen enemy has no archers.

T'ien'chi has one of the best archers, use them.

Horse Archers are wonderful. Use them. Also invest in some Province Defence, you don't seem to have one, and Ulm PD gave me soo much trouble...

Reason for Not using Tigers
Example: When fighting against Pythium, they come at you with 5 units of Hydras and Serpent Priests casting Poison cloud, and various buffs on hydra. Shorly followed by Pythium Evocation attack and curses. With combined Fear aura of the Hydras, tigers will easily rout, and if certain percentage of your army routs, your entire army routs.

Well, I could say that your dominion increases PD in a land with Order scales, but I won't, because that may be too late...

2 mana gets rid of 1 Death Scale in your own land (good thing to know these days...)

You have one of the best Wizards and have quite a color pallette with your magic. But i think you are doing that part great.

Celestial Soldiers are wonderful...

scribblescribblepause wait, Mana lowers death!?!?!? :run: YAY! :woohoo:

Lol. How do you think I was spared when all the other nations were doubling over from diseases? Talking cats? :P

So wizards+CS+archers/cavalry archers+sneak attack tigers. Got it, now I just need some money to buy the soldiers with... Want some nice magic items?
Given recent breakthroughs in Arshnoc's Construction magic, Arshnoc is now willing to sell very powerful magical items for a price. Arshnoc mages can now produce almost any desired item, just place your order and watch as your armies crush all opposition to your will. This is a limited time offer, get yours today.

Yes. Some research boosters will be nice.

I'll see what the best quality I can make is.

Be careful that this is not the computer game, but a NES. This effect for instance doesn't exist in the NES. Although Arshnoc will pay (or paid) lower price for the conscription tech.
Also, tigers are not sneaky. They are fast, making them good at attacking enemy cavalry and flanking, but seeing how it's easy for Arshnoc to mass them, there's no reason not to use them as front troops. Thye have good morale too.
Arshnoc archers are very good (composite bows, decent armor), but Pythium soldiers all have tower shields (well, almost all of them) so it's not going to be very useful against Pythium. They would be very useful against Lanka or Mictlan, not so much against Abysia, and moderately against Jotunheim.

Mana doesn't lower death. Mana can be used to change scales. Several players asked, and since Seon told it, I will make it clear for everybody:
It's possible to pay 2 mana to temporarily switch 1 scale by 1 point. "Temporarily" meaning it will revert back to your dominion preferred scale in time. But it may take 5 turns to go from -3 to 0 so paying 6 mana now boosts the process. It's also possible to pay 5 mana to create a magic site that permanently tips a scale by 1 point, meaning that given due time, the scale will stay at your dominion value + that point. All this is per province.
e.g. Suppose your dominion scale is Growth 1, that you want growth 2 in all your provinces forever. Suppose you have 10 provinces, and currently, for some reason, the growth scale is -3 everywhere (death 3). You can pay 10 times (number of provinces) 4 * 2 mana to bring your scales back to +1, and an additional 5 mana per province to have it grow to Growth 2 without reverting back to growth 1 later. Total cost: 130 mana.
Also note that you could also achieve somewhat similar effects by using a strong nature mage, high level enchantment spells and much less mana.

By the way, I notice we have (too) many NPC nations now. LDi, should we scour for a new recruit? (perhaps allow DE back in? :p).

Oh, and I call dibs on Fomoria. Anything on there will be eaten by hydras.

NPCs are Shinuyama, Jotunheim and Lanka, which is the same as the starting Jotunheim, C'tis, Marignon. And actually Lanka and Vanheim were NPC'd on turn 1, so it's actually less NPCS than what what we used to have. But if you find someone wanting to invest time in one of these nations, they'd be welcome.

Yo Central Powers! (Ermor and Pythium)

What is this talk of going to war with Arshnoc?

You can't war with them, we here from the south are still warring them! ;)

When did I say I will? I considered it, but there always is another prey...(fomoria)

A message to Ermor,

You have long been a neighbour who has respected our territorial boundaries and trade has fourished between our ands; indeed the recent signing of a non-aggression pact between our people has continued to bring our people together.
Now, however, we worry about your large armies massed on the border of our Marrignon-provinces. We realize that you mean us no ill will and certainly would never consider breaking our treaty but please be informed that now that you have a significant army and may be seeking a new territory to conquer, we have decided to reinforce our border with mages and priest who are trained in working, in communion (we call it sabbath) to banish very large numbers of undead at once as well as to train our non-demonic armies in the same area prior to sending them overseas.
We hope you are not threatened by this message; our intention is to merely illustrate that your military attentions should be directed elsewhere and that any ill-conceived notions of conquering our continental provinces by your lesser commanders or foolish lower-ranking officers should be ignored.
Thank you,
Mantis

The large armies that have been placed in our border provinces are only there due to the fact that we waged war against Ulm and, as such, those three provinces were the ones where all soldiers had been placed. Let it be known that we don't seek war with you.
