@Nefariosx

Well, your 5) is not scientific ( using Popper definition: you can't make a experiment to prove/disprove it ). Using your 4), this make it a Faith, hence smashing all your reasonining line .Not mentioning that points 1) to 3) have nothing to do with the phrase you are defending ( "Why you should turn away from Christ today")... at most it is more a line of arguing of "Why you should turn away from organized churches today", that it is not the same thing ( atleast you don't defined that relation.... and I doubt you could defend that position anyway: that is exactly the same as blamming George Washington for the last US presidents lies )

This is not a attack to your position or agreement to Patricman one, but atleast Patricman position refers only to his premise and it is not self-contraditory.

/off-topic

Snaaty, I think you are building too much suspense :p

oh lawd

Thanks for taking turns stabbing at me because I don't back off when someone shines the magic word "faith". Yeah, you can call me out on copying Patricman's signature to the letter but that doesn't mean you have to be douche and try to get the last word on a thread that shouldn't be a place for a debate. I knew this would spark controversy anyway, so feel free to invite me to a chat room and I can defend all my points there but don't vent your butthurtness at me on some random internet thread where I happened to make my second post.

@ All:
suspense is good:D:lol::crazyeye:

...

@ All again:
Write in you sig whatever you want, but please do NOT DISCUSS IT HERE. It´s the forum admins job to decide if a sig is offensive and thus against the forum laws. Just report it and let them decide

...
@ All again, again:
Next Update ready, will post it when I find time (very likely tomorrow):king:

Yay! Im very excited Snaaty!

@ Waffle: Of course you can!

@ All: I am going to Honor Snaaty's request and not say anything more about my sig.

Actually, you never said anything at all; I did. :)

Sorry. I'd like to look ashamed, but I'm not. ;)

Now enough of the Troll Slaying, let's bring on The Don and let's see how this story plays out.

oh noes!!!!

here i thought i would get to read the whole story without pause...

Bloodbath in Zululand, Part 2:

…

The 13th of April 1613, at 7:30 in the morning, was the day and time a cheerful voice woke up Shaka from his dreams…

“Good morning… …hope you had a nice and peaceful rest this night…”

“GAAAAAHHHH… …yawn… ….GAAAAAAAHHHH… …Don Deity… …what the hell are YOU doing here in my bedroom… …and how the hell did you manage to sneak in unnoticed???”

“Well… …didn’t you notice the door over there hanging in thin air?”

“Um… …actually… …yes, but the guys who installed it said they would build the room behind it later… …and I was quite busy ruling my country, you know, so I didn’t bother…”

“Yeah, yeah, never mind… …have you noticed my fleet and army hanging around next to kwaDuwhatever lately?

“Yes, I have… …and have you noticed OUR fleet and army next to it?”

“Well… …never mind again… …interested in a little war?”

“WHAT?”

“You… …me… …your army… …my army… …you know… …fighting and such…”

“WHAT?”

“Do you actually have breakfast service here?”

“Yes… …off course… …I only need to call the service… …WAIT… …what was that about WAR you mentioned earlier?”

“Nothing important… …no need to spoil our breakfast with it… …do you have these French stuff, called croissants?”

“GUARDS… …GUARDS…”

“Umh… …if you should have croissants, just leave them in kwaDuwhatever, I will pick them up there… …see you later…”

…

On the bridge of the USoF commando cruiser, General Supersnaat and Don Deity:

“…and why again didn’t you just call Shaka for declaring on him?”

“Because it was early and I was hungry… …but back to the invasion business… …you know what you have to do?”

“Yes… …we will start the attack on kwaDuwhatever the moment you leave…”

“Fine… …bye then…”

…

At 7:45 the same day, the USoF eastern fleet entered Zulu sea-territory near kwaDuwhatever and immediately opened fire once the harbour of kwaDuwhatever was in reach, with the sun in their backs. Everything happened so fast that the Zulu marine trapped in the harbour of kwaDuwhatever never had a chance to fight back. Under heavy fire from the USoF cruisers not a single Zulu ship managed to leave the harbour… …6 heavy Zulu cruisers got sunk without firing a single shot themselves…

…

Only 35 minutes later, the seafort above the harbour of kwaDuwhatever was already in ruins and the harbour defences were only firing sporadically…

…

At 8:55 the first USoF landing divisions started to secure a beachhead right next to the harbour of kwaDuwhatever, and at 9:15, the first USoF artillery divisions already were in place and opened fire at the city itself. As expected, the 5 defending battalions of infantry in kwaDuwhatever immediately charged into the USoF beachhead to prevent the artillery to do its devastating work and to gain some time to organize a proper resistance in kwaDuwhatever. Due to having an extremely exposed position at the beach, the USoF forces couldn’t stop the Zulu to reach the defenceless USoF artillery, but although the losses among the USoF artillery were incredible high, the brave USoF soldiers never stopped firing, even in the face of sure death.

At 9:40, the Zulu counterstrike came to a halt and most of the beach was under USoF control. Now bigger equipment could be disembarked and when the first USoF tanks appeared on the battlefield, the Zulu had to retreat back into the city, suffering heavy losses due to the constant bombardment of the remaining USoF artillery.

Still, the first USoF offence at 10:20 wasn’t able to break through the Zulu defences and a lot of USoF tanks got trapped between the harbour of kwaDuwhatever and the city walls. The second USoF offence started at 10:45, this time with the clear goal to breaking the Zulu resistance in kwaDuwhatever once and for all. The USoF artillery concentrated fire on the remaining Zulu defenders at the beachside of the town and the USoF cruisers sized in parallel control over the harbour and started to open fire on the Zulu troops from the other side. Being trapped between massive artillery fire from two sides finally broke the moral of the Zulu defenders and when the first USoF tanks broke through the meanwile completely destroyed seaside city wall of kwaDuwhatever, the Zulu defenders finally capitulated to the USoF troops. At 11:30, the host of the USoF easten fleet was already safe inside the harbour of kwaDuwhatever and just in time when the first Zulu heavy cruiser got spotted on the radar, the remaining USoF fleet managed to pull into the harbour.

…

The USoF gunships got disembarked immediately after the harbour was secured, and already at 13:20, the inner city of kwaDuwhatever and most of the northern outskirts were tight under USoF control. There were some minor fights in the southern part of the town, where some Zulu troops tried to block the street and hinder the USoF advance by using guerrilla tactics, but with enough support of the heavily armed USoF gunships, the USoF ground troops had secured the whole city including the outskirts at around 16:30.

…

At 17:15, the USoF forces then launched another major operation in the countryside West of kwaDuwhatever, and at 17:30 they managed to deal a devastating blow to the mountain pass connecting kwaDuwhatever with Central Zululand, by destroying the only bridge connecting kwaDuwhatever with Central Zululand.

The offence in the north of kwaDuwhatever was aided by the USoF troops (EAG2) invading Zulu at the same time from the Mongolian side of the Kwadumbo Mountains, leaving only destroyed infrastructure behind. At 20:45, just when the sun was about to set, the northern Kwadumbo Mountains were also cut of from the Zulu side and the USoF army retreated through the “save” corridor towards kwaDuwhatever.

The red circles indicate, where the roads and railroad-lines have been cut

The seafort above the harbour in kwaDuwhatever was also bursting with activity, because the engineers within the USoF army were already busy with repairing all over the place and the USoF artillery was about to occupy the strategically important position high above the kwaDuwhatever harbour. With enough firepower gathered in the seafort of kwaDuwhatever, no Zulu ships would be able to approach the bay of kwaDuwhatever and the USoF navy would be able to operate relatively save in the costal waters in the bay. This was a very important part of Don Deity´s plan, because the artillery contained in the EAG2 had to be picked up in a small bay in the Kwadumbo Mountains where they were hidden, while the tanks destroyed the bridges and passes over the mountains, making them impassable for the Zulu forces and also the USoF artillery (see picture in previous storypost for embarkement point of EAG2 artillery...)

…

When the sun finally set at 21:20, General Supersnaat just had finished installing himself in the townhall of kwaDuwhatever, turning it into the USoF base of operation for the Zulu invasion… …so far, everything had worked out as planned, now there was nothing left to do but to wait for the main Zulu counterstike… …and the numbers of the USoF losses so far during the invasion on kwaDuwhatever were also still missing…

…

I’m happy for any feedback, suggestions, tips and hints concerning this game...

IMPORTANT NOTE:

If you want to play along or ahead feel free to pick any save you like. Only thing you REALLY should do is to use spoiler tags for anything AHEAD of the actual story.

The saves for this game I will post every 3-4 turnsets from now on

YOU WILL NEED THE WARLORDS 2.13 PATCH TO OPEN THE LAST SAVES

...

See you Soon

Snaaty

Thanks for the last two updates, they were great.

It's gonna be a fun war. (what a weird statement ;)).

Actually, you never said anything at all; I did. :)

Sorry. I'd like to look ashamed, but I'm not. ;)

Now enough of the Troll Slaying, let's bring on The Don and let's see how this story plays out.

I was yelling at him in my mind, I read his sig after you guys already got to him.

But the end of that, Very Very exciting Snaaty! I loved the bit of humor at the beginning! Could you tell me why again you had to land the artillery first? Coudln't you land artillery and tanks at the same time to protect them?

@ Patricman:
I didnt land the artillery, I directly attacked from the ships (this is warlords, remember;)). But I felt the need of wrapping it into a more logic story, because attacking with artillery directly from a transport ship is a little weird in reality... ...so what I did was: hit wit 6-8 artillery (all died due to amph. penalty), then hit with tanks to take the city, again directly from the ships (but I lost some tanks due to bad luck:()... ...then I moved with the transports into the harbour of the captured city and unload the rest there so they can still move to cut the roads:) (=gunships are perfect for this)

This is when you really miss Marines.

The war to end all wars, Part 1:
“Yes sir, my team of scientists is already working on it, and once the material is fully stabilised, we simply can ship pre-produce plates anywhere we lika and stick them to our existing tanks, making them almost invulnerable to conventional firepower…” (upgrading tanks to modern armor)
I have read the whole story the last two days. And i have to say that this is really the best story concerning CIV i have ever read. You did a very good job as a storyteller Snaaty!

And now for the quote above:
(Perhaps someone in this forum knows a little bit about Warhammer40k ;) )

Your foe is well equipped, well-trained, battle-hardened. He believes his gods are on his side. Let him believe what he will. We have the tanks on ours.
— Colonel Joachim Pfeiff, Krieg 14th Armoured Regiment +++

This could be also a quote from DD or GS. :) Let the "Kampfpanzer" crush the Zulu forces to dust!
