Is it just me, or has the definition of an IOT drifted considerably?
IOT is pretty much a geopolitical simulation. That's the only real unifying factors.
You have your super intricate economies, your lack of economies entirely, you have games based in a city or province, and games based on an entire planet or group of planets.
Really it's a very loose category.
Oh. It's also a term for games that really should be in NES but aren't due to history rather than any other reason.![]()
That's what I thought, and then I start seeing stuff like CityIOT and that Superhero RPG pop up...
I guess in my mind, IOTs need at least provinces...
