World Building Games is really the best fit, in my opinion.

Well, the name they've established at the Promised Land is Single Thread Games. That kind of fits. I like the ring of WorldBuilding Games. WBGs isn't a bad acronym.

someone should poll this to be honest
In fact... (the poll's not very good but eh)

If "Forum Games" wasn't already claimed, I'd say that would have been the best bet.

I personally approve of World-Building, without "games" being attached, though I suspect that might not be so universally well-received.

I was hoping the whole "building" thing would buy off any "NES IS VERY SRS, NOT GAME" reactions

Anyone who has that reaction needs to reevaluate their life.

I actually wanted it removed partially because some are more stories than games, but far more relevantly because it sounded unnecessary and I liked the shorter proposal.

I think the problem is that World-Building in itself seems rather misleading, since while some things here are no doubt stories, there are still very clearly delineated games played here. World-Building Games encompasses both aspects of what we do here.

I was also thinking (in my aside) that there are certainly some players who have vocally expressed a distaste for the world-building portion of our games.

In short, there's not really an ideal name. I personally like World-Building, but so long as I don't have to type some horribly long term out, I'm fine with more or less whatever.

IOT-NES is probably the best fit in my opinion. Why throw years of culture out of the window eh?

And if I'm going to be snarky, STG sounds too much like a certain type of disease. :p

EDIT: Also I know this is ironic considering I was one of the main people to push for IOT-NES early on and the main person behind the Vichy NES Funposting, but we should probably wait a few months to see if people are actually successful with the whole Frontier thing as the whole merger thing could push people out. If it turns out that NES in CFC isn't viable by itself then by all means a merger would be a good idea.

NES-IOT says nothing about what is in the forum, it is just a random collection of letters.

It says it is a merger of NES and IOT. And I mean IOT and NES weren't accurate the first place. NESes end and IOTs haven't been played in OT for years. But they are good names that we shouldn't abandon willy nilly.

But they are good names

Explain how on earth they are good names?

Like I said earlier
NES (everyone just thinks for some reason there is a subforum for old nintendo games) or IOT (I don't think a single person who is active in IOT visits OT often, if there is they are very much in the minority).

Neither of them give any info about what is in the sub-forum.

I have no idea wat other forum wat.

So, on NES, there was a huge conflict about a controversial post and mod actions related to it, and (long story short) because of that, NES is moving to another website called the Frontier. Some people have left CFC for good, while others (like me) have created an account for the Frontier but are still active on CFC.

World Building may be a good idea for a name that can both cover IOT and NES. It also allows additional cultures other than IOT and NES to speak out, while ensuring the unity of NES and IOT that will end with the illumination of war as politics and politics as war.

Also claiming the middle isle in the alternative Americas that SK posted.
