#iot

Due to Chatango's recent issues, we've decided upon #iot as a temporary alternative. Since #iot is an IRC (Internet Relay Chat), there's no direct link. The easiest way to get to #iot is to use Mibbit, an IRC client that works in browser:
1. Click here
2. Click on "server"
3. In "server" enter "warrensofthought.com"
4. In "channel" enter "#iot"
5. In "nick" enter whatever handle you want to use.
6. Connect, if it works you're done! Yay yuo! If not post here and I'll try to help you.
Mibbit is confirmed to work in Steam browser as well.

Don't worry about not being ops/voiced/whatever, this isn't important right now.

Consensus seems to be that this is an alternative to MMBop since IRC, while it's superior in some ways, is rather different, and hopefully we'll get back to using MMBop as soon as we can, but for now this is a thing.

For anyone who doesn't know (possibly nobody), if you replace #iot with #nes, you get into NES chat

Another thing.

if you want special priviliges it's best you register. This takes about 1.4 seconds: all you need to do is type in /NickServ register <password> <email>, and every time you enter chat after that just type in /NickServ identify <password> to authenticate.

Just going to stick to not-chatting.

Productivity already rising.

Chatango is back up.

Or not.

To me Steam is not a valid backup. Too intrusive. Also can I use it on my tablet? Because I can use IRC.

No you can't use it on a tablet, I have tried, well unless you are using a surface or something, but that is pretty much a windows computer :p

Download the Mercury browser for your iPad if that's the tablet you have. Mibbit works just fine on that.

for anyone who doesn't know I'm back, baby

Sorry guys, my activity is going to be close to null over the next week as I have used all of my roaming data. Sorry guys.

A pseudoliberal atheist bisexual Chatango-using IOT chatter and devout otaku was teaching a class on IOTIV, known Story IOT.

"Before the class begins, you must get on your knees and worship Thorvald and accept IOTIV was the most highly-evolved ruleset IOT has even known, even greater than Iron and Blood!"

At this moment, a brave, highly-educated, realist post-secondary college student who has written 1500 pages of rulesets and understood the necessity of mechanics and fully supported all economic tracts written by Adam Smith stood up and held up a one-page ruleset.

"How complex is this game's player-player interactions, pinhead?"

The arrogant otaku smirked quite libertarianly and smugly replied, "The most complex possible, you stupid Statter."

"Wrong. This ruleset is simple. If it was complex and StoryIOTs, as you say, are fun...then players should be doing more than spamming narratives now."

The otaku was visibly shaken, and dropped his mouse and copy of Fate/stay Night. He stormed out of the room crying those pseudoliberal crocodile tears.

The IOTers applauded and all joined Multipolarity that day and accepted TanciniusReal as their GM and savior. An eagle named "15% annual population growth" flew into the room and perched atop a Pakistani flag and shed a tear on the mouse. Principles of Macroeconomics was read several times, and Milton Freidman himself showed up and implemented monetary mechanics across all IOTs.

The otaku lost his tenure and was fired the next day. He died of the Somali Comet Plague and was tossed into the radioactive Egyptian lake of fire for all eternity.

Semper Fi. p.s. update your games

:lmao:

Some minor announcements about my IOTs.

First, I'm doing a major writing project (that I won't publish it until it's good enough, which will most likely take more than a year) and also studying Roman mythology (I abandoned Zoroastrianism and now I'm going to become a Roman pagan, probabily), so don't expect me to write big posts during the holidays (till March since I live in South America), specially during the 2nd next week because I'm going to dedicate my full time on said project. In addition, I won't make any IOTs a la KinkIOTIII during holidays.

Finally, if you wonder why I didn't write the KinkIOT story I said I would, well, I downloaded idontrememberwhat.exe/zip/whatever, then my computer started acting weird and I feared I had a virus. I didn't want to risk my CFC/blog/YouTube accounts getting hijacked, so I had to make sure there was no virus, so I couldn't do much. The KinkIOT story will be up by Tuesday 12 AM UTC, I promise.

Here's the thing. You said "IOT is a NES."

Are they on the same board? Yes. No one's arguing that.

As someone who is a GM and studies IOT, I am telling you, specifically, in All Other Games, no one calls IOT NES If you want to be "specific" like you said, then you shouldn't either. They're not the same thing.

If you're saying "IOT family" you're referring to the taxonomic grouping of IOTs, which includes things from Revolution IOT to Iron and Blood to Multipolarity .

So your reasoning for calling a IOT NES is because random people "call the smart ones NESers??" Let's get Valkyrie and Spirit of Man in there, then, too.

Also, calling someone a Spirit of Manner or an AOGer? It's not one or the other, that's not how the board works. They're both. Iron and Blood is Iron and Blood and a member of the IOT family. But that's not what you said. You said IOT is a NES, which is not true unless you're okay with calling all members of the AOG family NES, which means you'd call Alpha Centauri, Forum Games, and other AOGers, too. Which you said you don't.
It's okay to just admit you're wrong, you know?

Personally I've just started calling everyone Nesiots.
