Don't Panic: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Teaser Trailer

Yeah, I'm a little skeptical that they could pull off his universe. I'll see how forum movie goers respond before I give the movie too much thought.

Yeah and they tried a miniseries, anybody remember how dry that was?

couldn't agree more, the series hold me off for years from reading the book. It was a big surprise that the books are hilarious!

Not much of a teaser is it? Just standard run of the mill movie music and some sound effects.

The five book "trilogy" is classic literature as far as I'm concerned! (of course, I'm highly uncultured, so I guess that doesn't say much, 'eh? :p )

The miniseries was just plain bad. Fortunately, I had already read his books several times before I saw the t.v. show.

So much of DA's humor is subtle and based upon characters' thoughts, so I wonder how they will truly convey that on the big screen. But I guess since Adams wrote the screenplay, maybe my question has already been answered.

Im sure in the movie Zaphod will be played by a cool, smart alecky teen:rolleyes:

I thought the TV series was brilliant.

The radio series was the best.

And the books, quite frankly, weren't that good by comparison. Adams evidently decided that he needed a bit more material than was in the radio series, and tried to flesh out some of the characters and add a bit more overarching plot. I don't think it worked. The best bits of the books are those taken directly from the radio series, which was lighter and more anarchic. Adams wrote great random-direction comedy and couldn't handle characterisation. The later books, not basedc on the original series, are definitely inferior to the earlier ones.
