I shan't be making a new MOLE until you release Overlord2 1.8

Incidentally, are you sure that you want to add all of the content from the MOLE into the main mod? You were afraid that this extra content would slow the mod down for low-end computer users.
 
glad to hear your still with me buddy,

well, i work everyday on ol1-8, for now i mainley performing tests of autoai, to see if theres more ctds, but so far so good!! after two games over 2500 turns :)

as for the extra stuff,
well,
i will probably add thses:
hellenism (already done)
buttons
un forces - perhaps with some varients
crusader
galleas
combat xp

the things that add most of the files are the civiliztions additions,

also,
i will find someway to reduce mod size by clipping some other unused stuff, like building graphics for instance, maybe making more buildings to look the same - using the same model?
maybe you can give me some tips on units that you barley use and perhaps i can take them out ?

what do you think bout it?
also, gonna reduce unit scale - some are out of proportions,

and plus,
im a unit freak....i love things that give extra units :)

the thing im missing the most is some more religions and corporations,
if you can and willing, i would be very happy if you can asist me,

basicly all i need you to do,
is just add me the icons to the font files, and ill do the rest,
the reson i didnt add more corp and religions before is cause i dont know how to add icons...
you can use what ever icon you wish - i saw a new mod here that adds 7 religions ..you can barrow from there,

First of all, two thankes : thank you for repling my post at Mylon's post. and thank you for making such a great mod - I downloaded it last night and I find this mod very exciting!

I do have a few questions tho....
1)When I play the game, I get tons of

TXT_KEY_MORECIV4LERTS_OPEN_BORDERS
am I missing XML files??

2)City size (radius size where workers can work from the city screen) is a tad too big for me. (its 9x9, where valina is 5x5?) Are there anyway to reduce the size via XML or ini?

3)some civs have only one leader head. would it be possible for you to make at least two each? :)

the text errors, is my bad.....

you can set the city size in the culturelevel.xml under assets > xml > gameinfo

there for each culture level - you can set the nuber of size from 1-4 .

about leader heads, i reccomend for now you dl the mole addon by zulu - avalble on the first post, it add some civs and leaders,

and i will consider this.

Installed Civ again and gonna give your mod some more mileage :)

Got some questions,

Where can I find those 3 world maps you mention on page one?
I downloaded the Huge one from page... er.. well 3-4 pages before this one :)

When I start it tho I get "You have been defeated" every time, is that cause I dont have mole addon installed? Or what can cause it?

indeed a long time..

yey well...modding is like a drug addiction,very hard to quit...

the world maps are availble in page 66-67, cant remmber where exaxtly, ill add it to the main post laiter - ive been lazy...

wierd, not sure why you get that error, have you instaalled patch b?
try it with mole also...

im working my but of on forming a stable version,
ive dixcovered some errors, that ive fixed,
and also, i discovered a ctd with the resources, but i think im over it now.
 
Need a bit of help with installing, when i try to open "globaldefinesalt in the OL xml folder" IE opens and with an erro msg saying the xml page cannot be displayed.

What should i do?

Still no luck in getting the Giant earth map (34 civs) to work :(

Havent been able to try with mole as rapidshare is useless :mad: DL went at a stunning 45kB/s and timed out halfway, joy.

Any ideas what causes this problem generally?

Can't find the other 2 (you mention 3 on the first page) world maps so haven't been able to try those either.

Random maps etc work fine, just cant start the GEM.

And ye, got patch B installed.
 
i cant use the "custom scenario" with the world map, is there a way to put aggressive AI and no tech brokering automatically into the scenario, and maybe a way to change which leader is running that civ?
 
The Giant Earth Map that someone posted and included in the front page it's fully operational...I don't understand why you guys have trouble with it...I've been playing long time now and, well I have some CTD crashes but everything seems fine...

I've you appear in the middle of the ocean or the "You've been defeated" message, try again and restart map. Works! :)
 
The map together with the large mod IS straining the abilities of most systems. So as housemadrid say: try again.
 
hey guys,
just letting you know,

the reason i wont release ol 1.8 yet,
is because i have some unundentefied crash with either the resources or the improvments,

my current overlord version, i s acctually built on revdcm 0.95, and i did over 3000 turns with no crash,
but i have a crash when i add the resources (after step by step tracking of the files that must cause the crash)
once i will succeed in discovering whats the direct cause ill be able to continiue my work.

if i wont find a solution, i plan on barrowing alternate resources from the different mods out there like woc.

if any of you poeple knows how to track a bug using the logs...i would be happy for some assistence.

Keldath, you might search the forums as well, iirc there is a cap on the possible numbers of ressources that can be savely implemented. But I'm not sure iirc. ;)
 
i like the idea of this mod but i've been having problems playing it. Straight after launch, its been very slow and after i turn the debugmode on, it shows me a message:

python exception
in file "CivScreenInterface" line 810 in force screen shadow
in file "CivMainInterface" line 2820 in redraw
in file "CivMainInterface" line 6595 in update score strings

some kind of unbundle error...

i've got the patch and all, but maybe i've placed some files the wrong way or something...? would appreciate help. cheers
 
perhaps, i havnt encountered this error you describe here.

try re installing it.

i reccomend you wait for now with playing overlord,
im working and making tons of tests on my new version to be super stable.

so far so good, as i wrote i deleted all the current resources,
but ive added new ones - the pack from woc - amber, tin, shrimp and so on.
ill add mybe two more for now, i want it to be a more modern resource -
what do you guys suggest? besides methan...
i want 1 for sea and 1 more for a land res.
