Double Your Pleasure

the latest, i download it and patched it with the patch from dyp webpage, but it was just the mod with rules, not the map, so i finally imported the kal-el map with resources and everything, and i solved the problem. Also added a little modification to it like playing with 24 civs, and maybe to build any unit will need one population.

Playing Version 0.91 Looking at Civ Encyclopedia entry for Great Wall Wonder. I read two different statements regarding which tech advance renders this wonder obsolete. One states Metallurgy, the other states Military Tradition. I referenced the DYP_0_90_Final.xls guide and it says Metallurgy. I understand from previous e-mail last week that Civ Encyclopedia entry mistakes will be corrected in the new version. My question at this time is: which advance makes the Great Wall Wonder obsolete?

I V'got a very tsrange game right now!
I don't have any acsess to insence, however I can build temples and othere buildings that need it!

(maybe it's becouse my civ is religious, I almost never play relegious couse it's too easy...)

Barbs are intended to be very powerful - not sure if they are too powerful, but yes in the beginning of the game, you're not going to stand much of a chance against them. The problem is, that we want them to be dangerous for a longer time than they are in Vanilla Civ3, and the only way to do this, is to increase their stats. :( I wish we could add an extra 'level' of barbarians instead, but for now we'll have to make do with that.

Would it be possible to give the "basic" barb a lower attack (maybe a 3 instead of 4) and leave the "advanced" barb as is? I've found the best defense against these high power barbs is to get a few archers and bombard them before they attack.

Since these barbs are higher power than plain civ - How does the AI respond? Do they just get sacked a lot or do they put more production on military?

Once again - thank you for making Civ the game it should have been! :goodjob:

I reinstalled everything and the problem vanished. Thanks again for your tips.

Didn't you noticed that barbariens have iron swords in 4000bc?
It certanly looks iron!

So, I think the unit should be changed into some crazy guy with spear(wooden)...

That will be changed in the next release. So you will need access to insence to build temples and other improvements.

:)

The problem is that in regular Civ3, we only get to use one animation for the whole game, so we would have to put up with Crazy guys with Spears all the way into the Industrial age and longer (though usually there are few barbarians by that time).

In PtW, we can change the animations every time you enter a new age, but if it started as a Crazy guy with spear, it would have to continue to be one until you enter the Middle Ages, and that doesn't seem right either.

I was just curious on how the DyP group got together with so many being far apart to collaborate on this mod? Isak, forgive my ignorance, but what is and where is Airhose, Denmark? Ok, I know where Denmark is, but Airhose?

DJ !!!! Welcome back  Glad to see you around again. I'll send you some info on what's going on, tomorrow - I was just about to go to bed now, and unfortunately managed to convince my aching body that I had to, so now there's no turning back. :)

Connor: How we got together isn't really that strange - we all met here on CFC. If I recall correctly, RobO found some bugs in one of Kal-El's early releases, I opted to fix them as Kal-El wasn't sure what to do about the (neither was I, but I faked it :D ) and soon RobO and I had sold our souls to the DyP mod. Correct me if I'm wrong, guys - I probably am.

Airhose isn't really a city - To make a long story short, my avatar (Frank Zappa) visited my current hometown Aarhus back in the 70's and disliked the town (and the people) so much he insisted on calling it Airhose whenever he visited it after that. So, being the cheeky sort of person that I am, I insist on doing the same.
The reason that he didn't like, is long and very tricky, and wouldn't be fitting on a forum that doesn't have an X-rating, so i'll save that for some other time... Wouldn't want Chieftess or Padma striking me with moderator lightning :D

Hi DJ54, so glad to see you back :D

On getting together: I guess my main motivator was the obvious potential of DyP and the fact that Kal-el obviously had severe problems publishing handling the quality aspect of the development process (not the creative process, he's very good at that)

Don't worry. The sillyvopedia has been taken good care of. It's pretty much complete, in fact. Thanks mostly (but not exclusively) to pdescobar.

nice work! :) just one tiny sugestion: make Grasslands produce 3 food. i give this mod a 10/10 rating!
