Any help for me?

I have a version of Civ that came with DYP but whenever i try to build the wall street it says file "art/wondersplash/wallstreets.pcx" not found.

I downloaded the link you gave just before and have tried putting the wall street file from that into a few of the art folders whih seemed the logical thing to do.
Unfortunatly it hasn't worked. Probably am doing something wrong. any advice?

There is no such file. It should be "wall street.pcx" Note the space. Your path seems correct. Hmm. "D:\CivIII\CIV3PTW\Scenarios\DyP2\Art\Wonder Splash\Wall Street.pcx" is the full path here. Do you have the right file? Don't use the ones from the civilopedia.

yes sorry, in my haste i miss typed that file.
I do have that file.
Any idea where i need to put it?

Or any idea how i play the downloaded DYP instead of the one i bought?

Hey,

I just signed up for this forum today so I could ask a question about the DYP (complete) patch/upgrade that I downloaded BEFORE I install it.

As I joined after 191 pages of discussion, please don't respond with "read the thread" as there is no way I could reasonably read through that much pre-existing discussion, I just need a couple of quick catch-me-ups, if possible.

1. If I install the upgrade that I downloaded from this site:

...specifically from this link on that site:
http://civ3files.apolyton.net/mod/Dyp_v090_full.exe

...will I be able to load my previously saved games from the version of this Mod that was included with Civ3 Complete? I've had a lot of issues with Mods that don't seem to completely translate their own savegames very well.

2. Are there any currently known bugs/glitches/issues/conflicts that I should know about when going into this installation? For example, I noticed early on there were a lot of the unit files that had to be shuffled around and so on, .wav files missing for some units, etc.... Has everything been resolved, or are there still problems?

3. Does the Mod still hang/end at 680AD (I think that was the date) or has it been corrected to allow you to run up until such a time as you get bored of ruling the world?

Please help me out before I install the upgrade, folks. Many thanks!

PS: This is one of the most fantastic Mods I've played, even in the stripped-down version that was bundled with Civ3 that's missing a lot of your work. Thank you very much for all the effort, troubleshooting, playtesting, forum scanning, and caffeine mainlining you've done with this over the years!

I already posted this in the Technical Support Forum, but another member said it will be better if I post it here:

I decided to play Play the World, which still works fine. Since I like mods, I decided to play (patched) Double your Pleasure, which I heard is extremely great. However, when I tried to load:

I went to the PediaIcons file and added a Civil "Defense" entry, here:

I went to load Play the World again and it still crashed! Does anyone know what happened, and how to fix it?

P.S. I already have the images, so the lack of an image shoudn't be the problem

I happen to have Civilization III: Complete, which is fully patched, and reinstalling Play the World and Vanilla would, in practice mean completely reinstalling the game. Is completely reinstalling the game necessary?

I find that yes you must first delete and then reinstall if you "end process" the game at any time.

Ok farsight, lets have a look at your install, I'll compare with my working installation:

Your path: scenarios\Double Your Pleasure\text\PediaIcons.txt
My path: scenarios\DyP2\text\PediaIcons.txt

Your Pediaicons.txt:

Notice the differnces in paths and names - and I'm pretty sure I haven't changed anything during the install. There was some old version originally on the CD - DON'T install over these, install Double Your Pleasure in a new folder. DyP2 in my case. And get the right files, version 2.x from my webspace. It's working again after my ISP messed up with some stuff:

In short: Your installation is somewhat messed up. CIV3 and complex scenarios are a bit hmm difficult to say the least. Do a clean install,

A clean install wouldn't hurt, certainly. I'm just not sure how it would help.

As I recall, there were issues with the way Conquests installs PTW. I seem to remember there were a bunch of issues when C3C first came out.

Conquests loads to operating system files. Simply move PTW folder to be its own program (on the same level as Conquests) and create a shortcut. I've said it before "I don't know nottin' "

Sadly, I cannot find disk 2 of Complete; I cannot reinstall. In the meantime, however, I am currently making a mod based on DyP. I'm done with the Ancient Era, and I need the Medieval, Industrial and Modern tech trees for DyP so I can see how I can mod it. Can anyone post some screenshots of the tech trees?

I've been playing the mod for a few weeks and loving it, then all of a sudden it starts crashing on me. Apparently there are some missing files. So far I've crashed because the file for Wall Street is missing. To continue playing I had to not build the wonder.

Then I hit a wall I haven't been able to get around. When I research flight I get this message. File Not Found: Art\Units\ME262\ME262.int I had the same thing happen when I tried to build Wall Street. I had to load a saved game and just not build it to continue.

Can anyone help?
