Empire Magic Politics: Many of the few magic-users produced are stuck maintaining the Song on k'orkuaez'rb. However, when they can be spared, they are welcomed in the colonies and the armies.
Empire Magic Specialisation: Mind Control (specifically for those that cannot be reached by the vu'pioor'ko)

Empire Type:Growth

Empire Race Politics:Main race focused, however, outsiders are welcomed into the hive. as slaves
Empire Starting Technologies:? (possibly something about fleshwarping. You know that affliction he gets in district nine that turns him into a brawn? yeah.)
Homeworld Name: súa nova casa
Empire Leader Name: irman grande
Homeworld Clima: Polluted from ages of biolological experimentation. Acidic rain, poisonous water, that sort of thing.
Homeworld Defence: The Spore. the air of súa nova casa in infected with a bacteria that starts manipulating the DNA of the host body towards that of a Kranoth. This means any wounds will heal with kranor flesh instead, and any other operations inside the body that checks how the body is supposed to look will behave like the body were a kranoth (note that this wont actually turn the host into a kranoth like in district nine). this is likely to cause severe disfunctions within the host.
Empire Magic Politics: because of the rarity of mages within the culture, the few that exist are prized, and often hold higstanding positions in the hive's hierachy.
Empire Magic Specialisation: Magic is most often used to amplify the technology(not in a arcano-tech way, more like improving the results)
Empire Technology Politics: Used mainly as a way to amplify the natural strength in numbers that Kranoth enjoy.
Empire Technology Specialisation: Biology.

More history, army hierachy explanition + more coming!

Questions and remarks about combat system:
1: what happens if you win by critical strike, but even with your three sixes, the enemy rolls higher? what are the casualties then?
2: do you keep rolling after each 6, even when you have a critical strike?
3: pointing out: with this, it is quite easy for one extremely elite unit to rampage through enemy units without taking any casualities. Is it possible to join up multiple weaker units to a single larger one? otherwise, a few superbuffed units will easily take a giant army.

added starting magic to description.
Spoiler :
Cuchulain walked through the remnants of the enemy ship, the air pressure slowly dropping as the holes in the hull became apparent. Scrap, all scrap and he still wasn't any closer to finding an answer. He kicked aside an arm and entered the one-man boarding pod. A feral smile appeared on his face as his ship slipped away, this had been a good day. The Drustan activated its stealth field and fled into the night, leaving behind a now-empty freighter. Soon people would come to investigate and they would ask awkward questions, questions that he didn't want to answer. Questions about his stealth drive, about the transformation that remade him, how every member of that ship's crew was dead via claymore.

Empire Stats
Spoiler :
Empire Name: The Imperium Stella
Empire Type: Technomantic (The Imperium Stella seeks to advance far enough ahead of the other nations and act as protectors of higher learning and art. With the power they seek, the Imperium believes that it will be able to watch over a greater area than ever before and have the authority to launch a crusade if needed.)
Empire Main Race: The nation The Imperium Stella is mostly comprised of Seraphim but there is a sizable minority of Outlanders who long ago gained the rights to set up a city of their own on Aether.
Empire Race Politics: Both the Seraphim and the Outlanders are fairly open to other races but view themselves as slightly superior to the common masses of the others. However, they are more than willing to accept anyone who can prove their worth through skill or strength.
Homeworld Name: Aether
Empire Leader Name: Seraph leader (main character) Arch-Paragon Gwenivere Kosciuzko, Outlander leader (minority leader) Chancellor Daedalus Budarin
Homeworld Climate: About 1/3 larger than Earth, is unusual in the fact that it has a horizontal axis, making the poles in the East and West and the tropics in the North and South. is composed of 57% water, most of which is contained in the planet's fresh-water ocean. However, there are two large lakes in which the water is mixed with various minerals and not as potable. The land is composed of mainly jungles and rounded mountains in the tropics and changes to more barren and rugged terrain toward the poles.
Homeworld Defense: Long ago the Seraphim learned to create powerful explosives capable of completely shredding anything in a relatively small radius. Using this technology the Arch-Paragon commissioned the creation of the first planetary defense ring. Aether now possess five planetary defense rings. The first four are made up of different types of orbital mines packed very closely together yet made of transparent materials so as not to block Aether's starlight. There are very few spots amongst the mines where any type of ship could easily fit through (although personal fighters could squeeze through the minefields one at a time, they would have to go so slowly that they could be picked off). The few openings a patrolled by the Outlanders craft as well as Seraphim. The Seraphim, since they do not require ships to travel in space, can easily navigate the mines. The first four rings of mines are a fair way out from Aether as to protect the fifth ring if they were ever to go off. The fifth and final ring holds the planets satellites as well as a ring of defense stations designed by the Outlanders and housing their fleet.
Empire Magic Politics: Both the Seraphim and the Outlanders of Aether highly value magic and see it as a power that should be embraced and expanded to its full capabilities (whatever those may be). The Outlanders are more naturally adept but both races train their members extensively if they show promise and frequently share secrets with each other on how to control and apply magic.
Empire Magic Specialization: The culture of the Imperium cares little for debating which branch of magic is more appropriate than another, instead all magics are allowed and students are encouraged to pursue the area which they feel most attracted to. The only condition is the purpose to which the magic is applied. If a citizen repeatedly uses magic in ways that are of questionable merit they will be investigated and stopped. Traditionally since magic and technology were separated the most powerful advances have come in areas such as elemental manipulation and spirit magics as well as some darker endeavors.
Empire Technology Politics: Traditionally the Imperium has tried to keep magic and technology separate in major productions such as space and weapons advancement for fear of creating something unstable. This led to an equal importance being placed on the development of technology as magic. However in recent years specialists have been successful in creating a branch of the national research institution that deals with safely combining the two and huge breakthroughs are expected soon.
Empire Technology Specialization: As with magic, it has always been the merits of the application and as such most areas of technology have been explored. However, the areas which were historically deemed more technological than magical have seen greater technological improvements. These include construction (both planetary infrastructure and defensive installations) as well as heavy industry and computerization. Of course the Outlanders of Aether have also delved into space technology, both for their own needs to survive in space and to create large ships for command, cargo, and colonization ships (since the free-flying Seraphim take the place of fighters).

Empire History
Spoiler :
The Seraphim of the Imperium Stella were once part of a larger loose collection of Seraphim among the stars. However Seraphim of Aether split with the others over the use of magic and technology. The conservatives of the order saw magic as something that should only be wielded by a few, carefully selected holy orders and only certain types of magic should be allowed. Never should technology be corrupted by mixing it with magic. The conservatives pushed for a galactic purge of all the cultures who used 'dirty' magic and corrupted the purity of life. The moderates of the order resisted this purge and the idea was placed upon the shelf for future consideration. Then in the year -12Ae a Seraph was discovered trying to create a device which mixed magic and technology and she was exiled to the far side of the galaxy. Unforeseen by the elders several thousand other Seraphs supported her and elected to accompany her into exile. This group, referred to as the Fallen, finally established a colony on Aether. For centuries they lived in seclusion until the year 308Ae. The first warning was the Outlander refugees who begged asylum on Aether from a great war that had consumed their world. This turned out to be the purge that the Seraphim alliance had planned centuries before. The Fallen accepted the Outlanders onto Aether but set them apart as a lower caste and forced them to help defend the planet. As the alliance forces drove the Fallen back to the planet's surface they gathered their greatest mages of the Holy Orders and attempted to smite Aether with a giant beam of solar energy (one of the few areas of magic allowed to them). Realizing the planet would be destroyed, the Outlander chancellor gave his life to pull Aether's single moon out of orbit and smash into the planet's surface. This move destroyed much of the surface and many of the inhabitants of Aether died. However the planet was knocked out of the path of the energy. This collision is also the reason for Aether's horizontal axis. After creating such powerful magic the Holy Order was left weakened and forced to retreat. The Outlanders of Aether were granted equal rights and their chancellor was recognized as a true political leader. The Fallen have recognized talented individuals of other races as their equals but never has any other entire culture been granted this distinction.

Hero Biography
Spoiler :
Seraphim generally live for centuries so it is quite unusual that Thaddeus La Miséricordieux was granted the title Archangel (the Imperium Stella's equivalent to knight) at the young age of 46. However, the circumstances regarding his rise to his position a national hero were a bit extreme. After the Seraph Alliance was defeated in Ae308 they retreated for a few more centuries and waited for the people of Aether to forget the threat they posed. In Ae657 Thaddeus entered into one of Aether's top academies due to his impressive test scores. He was one of the brighter members of his class yet not particularly adept in any particular area. Perhaps his only defining characteristic was his hatred of violence which was strange since the academy, as with all academies on Aether, taught combat as well as magic and technology and the usual smattering of languages, business, and history. Unbeknownst to the population of Aether, the Seraph Alliance had planted a few scouts among the students at several academies. One of these scouts reacted strangely during a magic lesson on death magic since the Alliance has forbidden it. When questioned she attacked the teachers and managed with the help of several other scouts to take the school hostage.
As the army of the Imperium Stella moved in on the Alliance uprising, the scouts turned to Thaddeus to devise a defensive plan, assuming that he shared his father's and grandfather's gift of strategy and threatened to reveal that both of his forefathers had worked as tacticians and generals for the No'Kin. Thaddeus instead created a plan for the students to fight back and succeed in liberating the academy. In the final moments of the fighting (during which Thaddeus was sitting back commanding and using magic due to his lack of fighting prowess) that Thaddeus was forced to confront the leader of the scouts and was thrown through a glass seal that encased a sample of dark matter. The entire wing of the academy was hit with a shockwave and all of the walls, and inhabitants, were filled with holes ranging from pin-sized to the simply being ripped in half. The Alliance scout leader was obliterated from the waist down and was quickly bleeding to death. She begged to be executed because the approaching Imperial army would keep her alive and torture her for information. Unable to face the pain that he had indirectly caused, Thaddeus slew the scout and earned his last name. The title was bestowed in a ceremony several days later after the dark matter holes had been closed up, although the scars still remain on much of Thaddeus' body. Today he is seen as a hero by much of the common population for his mercy killing but the army views it as weak action and often delegates him the easy missions.

Thanks for the empire-list help everyone!
I'l be adding the empire list as soon as i can. (Prolly when my throat will let me phrase anything else than cough...)

And welcome once again to hijon! (You might wanna' change your sig.)
I have a few things to point out:
Combining doesen't work like that way you do it in the techs. We had a huge misunderstanding of that at some point, and i have a post with it somewhere...
Argh!

FACE PALM

I'm really sorry everybody! But in my hurry i missed something!
I owe you all a explanation. A good one.

First: Miguel.
When i looked at your post i didn't notice the two tech pools being plussed.
I just saw the list of techs and the numbers showing how much tech points you used, wich was what i were hoping for you to do.

I'm sorry everybody, but you cannot put points into two Tech Pools together. It doesen't work like that.

The combining works like THIS:
A person has two points in crystal forging, and two points in lasers.
This person researches towards crystaline weapons with his crystalforging abilities.
Due to his abilities in laser, the result is a combination of crystals and focused light: OMG! HE INVENT'S STARWARS LIGHTSABERS!

As you might understand, such combinations will happen pretty randomly.
Though, if you are clever enough, you can set them into motion.

Also, do not mistake the two things that are
TECH POOLS. (Example: Lasers)
TECHS. (Example: Atmosphere Stabilization)

I'm sorry for all this confusion =(
And also i am sorry for those who have not yet been greeted into the thread.
I will look through your applications and give feedback as soon as possible =)
And ofcourse newcomers are still welcome ^^

-Dragonson
Darn... that was a mess O.ô

Also, the magic startup is NOT FINISHED.
More pools will be added.

To answer your questions:
It is not possible to outroll a critical strike.
If one side rolls a critical strike, and the other also does, the battle is re-rolled.
Upon rolling a critical strike you stop rolling. You've won the battle unless the enemy counters your crit.

Also, i think that i made it clear (or did i?) that when armies fight, it is the total unit strength that matters. = If a big ship attacks a load of small ships, the small ships will have a total unit strength instead of many small ones. BUT, if it's a tie, the big ship wins.

Hope i didn't miss anything...

Spoiler EMPIRE :
Empire Name: The Travelers

Empire Type: Nomadic

Empire Main Race: Human

Empire Race Politics: Main Race Focused

Empire Starting Technologies:

Homeworld Name: The city-ship Orchid is where most of the Traveler population calls home.

Empire Leader Name: Admiral Wilhelm von Hesse

Homeworld Clima: Original homeworld, Avendia, was "Standard" Terrestrial, surface is 85% water, generally on the warmer side as a global average temperature. The Orchid mimics climatic conditions perfectly.

Homeworld Defence: "The Quick Escape" is an emergency system attached to the Orchid city-ship, an old experimental teleportation system that has not quite been replicated in a comparable scale since. What it does is, upon activation, draws power away from non-essential systems across the city and then teleports the city-ship somewhere else, possibly at random, in order to get away from impending doom. It is said that the Admiral both fears and adores this device, though no one has had to use it since The Exodus.

Empire Magic Politics: Shunned unless used to thwart other magic. Magic-users are imprisoned in stasis, except for those who perpetrate heinous crimes, in which case they are executed.

Empire Magic Specialisation: Anti-Magic, if any.

Empire Technology Politics: Technology is the driving force of Traveler society, for without it they would all die in the hands of the harsh, cold mistress that is space.

Empire Technology Specialisation: Propulsion and Mobile Industry

Spoiler HISTORY :
Centuries ago (the historians suggest anywhere between 481 and 516 years ago, though some more eccentric scholars have proposed around 2342 years ago based on obscure texts and references) there was a world known as Avendia that was inhabited by a race of Humans that pursued the arts of magic and science in equal portion. Though there was little blending, there was also little conflict between the two, and great progress was made as Man learned to master their world completely. The Council of Mages studied away, the High Order of Science toiled away, and the Avendian people grew great and powerful.

It was near the time of The Exodus that a scientist named Victoria Rhodes began work on the greatest technological work the Avendians had ever seen. While space travel was quite common at this time, there were no truly great habitats in space, and most of the extrasolar colonies were small, bland bunkers in hillsides and craters. The Orchid was designed to house hundreds of thousands of people in a giant domed habitat, with city streets and buildings that would remind one of home, while the ship traveled the cosmos with immense efficiency. The idea was that, if an entire population could be brought from planet to planet, star to star, then they would be able to perform hundreds, if not thousands, of missions in a tiny fraction of the time, bringing exploration and understanding to even greater heights. The Orchid was being made to be self-contained entirely, not needing to stop off at a planet for any reason, potentially ever, though of course it would be capable of docking at most standard space stations, accepting and sending out smaller craft, or even landing in a large body of water on a planetary surface.

It was also around this time that the great Magus Arkhad d'Arvoslei began his greatest work in the fields of magic. Most aspects of the world had been conquered either by science or magic, though one force of nature still eluded and controlled the Human race entirely: death. Arkhad worked tirelessly for years on researching the cause and process of death, until his last day of true life on Avendia, in which his puzzle was solved. Donated corpses were present before him and his audience, his speech grand and elaborate, his presentation full of flourish and spectacle. The bodies rose, their eyes opened, and they spoke. Records are unclear as to what these first resurrected words were, though it is generally understood that they were spoken in unison and preceded the death and unnatural return to life of every person in the room that day. Some speculate that the first resurrected words were, "Braaaiinnsss..."

A plague of apocalyptic proportions descended upon Avendia after that day, and much of the world plunged into darkness and chaos. Anywhere a great wizard tried to wield his powers to stop the hordes of ravenous undead, a catastrophe unfolded before his or her eyes and the problem became worse tenfold. It is believed that, whatever the source of magic was for those on Avendia, it had become corrupted by Arkhad's affront to death and bid for the immortality of the Human race. No wizard was safe after this day, and so it fell to science to save them all. While great weapons were built, and mighty armies took to the field in terrible machines of war and destruction, the horde grew ever larger each day. After a month, the planet was in absolute peril of succumbing to its end.

The populace turned to one last, great act of survival: the Orchid received several thousand survivors and left the whole world behind. While the ship was not entirely finished, it was livable and sustainable nonetheless, and the remainder of the Avendian race carried on into the stars, committed to wander the void for all eternity. Never again would they permanently settle a world, out of shame and penance for what evil things they had brought on their home. Stops and visit occurred over the ages adrift, though never did they stay in one place. Eventually, the ship was completed from spare parts and new fabrications, the path of science pressing ever onward as magic was left in the darkness where they believed it belonged, for they were forsaken from it. The Orchid is now a fully capable city-ship, nearing its population capacity, though capable of building smaller ships from raw materials much in the same way that the old shipyards and aerospace factories could. Though they hold the memories of Avendia that were passed down to them firmly against their hearts, they no longer identify with that ancient home. Instead, to them, they are merely Travelers...

Spoiler HERO :
Hero Name: Commander Wolfhard Schlosser

Hero Race: Human

Hero Class: Commander

Hero Spaceship: Command Dreadnought Odin

Spaceship Special Abilities: Death Blossom - Typically used when the Odin is surrounded by enemy ships, a wealth of energy stored in back-up capacitors is channeled into the weapons systems, all of which are fired at once in all directions. The steady, relentless stream of energy bursts, projectiles, missiles, etc. is employed with the hopes of severely damaging or destroying every ship around the Dreadnought in short order, hopefully with minimal friendly fire casualties. Mostly only used in desperate situations.

Empire:
Spoiler :

Empire Name: Karakkis Imperetat
Empire Type: Mago-technological
Empire Main Race: Outsiders, as time progresses, perhaps more magic-users or tinkerers.
Empire Race Politics: Naturally focused on Outsiders, but only because of lack of contact with other races. Not xenophobic.
Empire Starting Technologies: Waiting for gamestart.
Homeworld Name: Karakkis; A massive gas giant that rotates a medium-sized yellow star. The gas giant is the only planet in the system, and only has to share with an asteroid belt. Its one small moon is unexplored as of yet. The Outsiders, for the most part, live in floating city-ships in the upper level of the planet's atmosphere, and enjoy the moderate climate therein. Some Outsiders have ventured deeper, but all that rests at the center of the gas giant is a large crystal of unknown materials surrounded by a sea of practically useless ethane and methane.
Empire Leader Name: Tamnis, Strastvoi, and Kratkoe; These three most powerful mages make most of the decisions, but if it will come down to some kind of empire-changing decision, a metaphysical or magical ballot is fairly simple to organize. In case an empire-wide vote comes about, it overrules the opinions or wants of the three head mages.
Homeworld Clima: It's a gas giant.
Homeworld Defence: Due to a very low (nonexistent) instance of contact with other species, they only have a shield surrounding the planet. Stops stray asteroids and comets, but I don't know what that would do to incoming vessels.
Empire Magic Politics: Magic is just about everything. The Outsiders are too weak for anything else.
Empire Magic Specialisation: Living on a gas giant has given them considerable insight to the workings of the winds, and has given them insight into the nature of higher-gravity bodies. Wind and Gravity augmentation magicks, if that's acceptable.
Empire Technology Politics: Technology is not frowned upon, and is somewhat encouraged, but technology can do little that magic can't, in the eyes of Outsiders.
Empire Technology Specialisation:99% of tech developed has to do with space travels. Metallic outer shell with a magically enhanced inner compartment. If technology in the Karakkis Imperetat didn't have magic as a companion, it would be comparable to industrial revolution tech here on Earth, I think.

Spoiler :
Empire Name: Arcadian Empire
Empire Type: Technomantic
Empire Main Race: Cetra
Empire Race Politics: The Cetra mostly welcomes those of other races. Mostly because they love playing jokes on them.
So yeah. Multi racial:
Homeworld name: Arcadia
Empire leader name: Empress Elika
Homeworld Climate: Temperate. Not much desert, but much plains and forest and whatnot.65% of the world is land. Approximately 1/5th larger than Earth.
-There are many lakes on this planet as well.
-Cold along the north pole and the south pole.
-Rainforest exists as well
-Civilization is mainly focused on one side of the planet while the other side is filled with vegetation and temples/academies. Yes. Many wizards/templars of Cetra are hippies.
-No moons and asteroids because of the last time the Sword was activated.
Homeworld Defence: The Sword: Generates a large shockwave from the planet itself, annhiliating anything on orbit. This has no discrimination, and such it is a double edged sword. It requires long time to recharge while the planet's core heals, and also provides no other protection.
Magic Politics: Magic is greatly encouraged among people. There is no official restriction on what schools of magic that people can do. No official paths that the state forbids. The state also sets up many academies and colleages of magic. In fact, magic is such an integral part of culture that Cetra children are required to learn basic magic.
Magic Specialisation:Cetra does not have any gripe on studying various magic arts. All magical paths are open to everyone. They do, however, have natural affinity over raw magic energy manipulation, to the point of creating an armor of magic around themselves in emergency with training.. Cetra is also very adept at using geomancy, light, and shadow magic.
Technology Politics: The government is mostly ineffective at keeping people from inventing/blowing up stuff in their house anyways. So their opinion does not matter. Although most government officials are engaged in activities of inventing/blowing up stuff, so they can be counted as supportive.
Technology Specialisation: The Cetra were always an inventive creatures. There is no clear part of technological spectrum that they do not focus on. However, they truly excel in computer AI technology and energy manipulation. They also like to integrate magic into their constructions, which usually increases the output or the structure integrity of them.

With Energy manipulation, Cetra is able to create state of the art generators, energy weapons, and shields, and is the secret behind the Sword.

Well DE, i notice some people are still filling out Magic, WICH THEY SHOULDNT SINCE IT ISN'T FINISHED YET! =(
So just post your hero, your Tech startup and your empire sheet. Maybee some story, but that's optional.

SO please all people who have posted their magic startup, wait ti'l i finished it =(

Oh! I noticed another blooper in the endless text masses =(

Tree and Last P. have added "combination techs" to their tech lists.

Combinations:
Colonization+Terraforming= more easily colonized planets, stronger colonies
Mining+Crystalforging+Energy= faster and easier mining of crystals as well as the ability to more efficiently use them.

What i meant with the combinations is that when you research things in game (and when i devide starting techs) tech results in for example, Resarching A new spaceship motor with space travel, might be affected for example by, Crystalforging, giving you a Crystal Motor (that doesen't overheat! that would actually be pretty imba ingame...) as the result.

Sozry =(

First empire added to the list.
Empires that are finished and that i have nothing to point out on will slowly be added as i have time. Magic list will soon be finished.
Do NOT make your magic list before your empire is on the empire sheet. I don't want more text chaos =(

The empires of the Black Nebula have almost recovered from the Kelren strike (Kelren lore will be posted as soon as i get my scanner (the thing that lets me upload drawings i made in RL) to work.), and it is a time of new rulers. And something is once again stirring in Darkspace.

Something is coming. Something huge.
It has been on the Radars of those lying close to the galaxy borders for along time now, and it is getting closer and closer.
Ships have been sent to investigate, none have returned.

Whatever it is, it has no signs of life like the Kelren armada.
Whatever it is, the inhabitants of the Black Nebula better be prepared.

Spoiler Ingame Info :

Yes, gamestart will be 800 A.A.
Once the game starts, there will be about 50 turns until the unknown object gets within sight range of the Black Nebula.

First one to guess what it is gets a badge!

(sorry, i just really wanted to post this.)

Inorganic squids will kill us all!!!:run:

Yeah. But you get the point. Incompreheneive monsters from spaces between the galaxy bent on destroying all sentient life because they woke up one morning and thought that it would be nice if they killed everyone. They are actually very nice people devoted to sports if you get to know them.

bun-bun in a spaceship!

Maybe 'tis pun-pun.

If that is so we are all dead.

Okay... a little hint:
It's round, and radars show that its abit larger than a normal planet.
Also it is not a "being".
