Light_Gaia_by_SonicYaioFan000.jpg

Figured I could share this. I tried to redraw the character Chip from Sonic Unleashed into a more normal-looking form. Why? Chip is called
Spoiler :
Light Gaia
, and since he isn't complete in his tiny form, I figured he would be bigger in his normal, complete form. While he may not be anywhere near as large as
Spoiler :
Dark Gaia, this is because his powers are concentrated and refined, rather than raw strength.

...I couldn't resist.

It took me about ten seconds to get the reference... :cringe:

To be fair, to fully get the jokes, one would need to have looked a little into both Twilight and Sonic Unleashed. But ten seconds isn't that bad! At least you got it, right! :)

I say Unleashed would've been the greatest game ever if this had actually happened... :mischief:

In bad news... now I have to think of more ideas for a joke strip... I have two more, but since there's minor sexual references in both, I don't think they'd be appropriate for CFC... :( Ah well! Not the first time I had to search for ideas!

...I'm on a drawing streak and no one else has used this thread yet. Sooo, if nobody minds...

Spoiler :
Chip__s_Job_Interview_by_SonicYaioFan000.jpg

Basically, the joke goes:

The Taco Bell Chihuahua died some time ago. Chip's a Chihuahua. Chip has been unemployed since the end of Sonic Unleashed.

...Chip also has a fetish for chocolate. Thus, this happened.

I should draw something, but I'm stuck for ideas.

Oof! Artist block! It's like kryptonite to all with creative minds!

I know the feeling. :( Luckily, that Taco Bell one came to me rather quickly... it was easy to connect the dots between Chip and the late Taco Bell dog.

...Is this a good a time as any to probe for something Sonic-related? :mischief: I remember you commented(on that dead Sonic thread) that every so often you'd include something related to Sonic in the DYOS threads, but I never dug deep enough I suppose...

And, are Taco Bell employees really required to speak Spanish?

I assume you're asking that because of what they're forcing Chip to learn. "Yo quiero Taco Bell" was the Taco Bell chihuahua's catchphrase, just in case you didn't know. Hence why Chip was being forced to learn it. ;)

In case you did and just are asking a related question, I have never worked a day in my life, so I don't know... I know a lot of fast food employees are Hispanic, but that doesn't count as "required." Maybe in some areas, possibly. One of my Mexican-American friends is trying to apply for Taco Bell, perhaps he could answer that question for me...

...Not that there's anything wrong with Hispanophones in the workplace, of course! They're a good source of laughs if one personal experience applies to all of them... one time I went to this mixture between A&W and Long John Silver's with my cousin. We were in the middle of ordering, when suddenly one of the chefs in the kitchen starting singing in a loud voice in Spanish... everyone - my cousin, myself, and the two other employees(both Hispanic themselves) - all cracked up from the awkwardness.

But that's just a personal anecdote...

On the question itself, I really don't know..

Anywho, time to brainstorm some more random pictures up...

Those threads (everything before DYOS 10) are lost unfortunately. I'm thinking of reintroducing Sonic and Co as supporting cast though. And, you could always join in the story. :D

I see. There aren't any here so I wouldn't know. :)

This saddens me that they all have been sucked into the void. :(

I endorse any such idea! I founded CFC's Sonic group for a reason. ;)

And, you could always join in the story. :D

I was actually considering that... my only issues would be:

a) being able to update regularly - I tend to switch between periods of a drawing every day or two and periods of a month or so without activity. Especially when schoolwork likes to intensify on me.

b) DYOS seems to involve quite a bit of cooperation between the numerous artists involved... teamwork never was one of my strong points...

All that said, I could probably address that first bit, though the second one might be an issue... how does it all work out, exactly, the communication between them all?

Not much of an issue. It's good to be relatively active of course, but even the "regular" contributors are actually rather sporadic in terms of updates. The last hand-drawn comic I posted was around Christmas.

Don't worry too much about this. Interaction that effects the story is usually done in the comics. Unless someone kills off a major character controlled by another poster's or create invincible armies, or something along those lines, there's no conflict. If you have an issue to bring up (eg something you think might seriously disrupts the flow of the thread), there's a DYOS Consul which acts as an-all purpose discussion thread.

...I think I actually have an idea of where to start. :mischief: I'll get right on that, actually... let's pray that from what little I've read(I've read the recent ones thankfully), I'll have a good idea where to go with all this... I just hope my contributions can pass judgement...

Wow! FredLC has been drawing a little again for six years.

More, actually.

Until about 2 years ago, I was a regular poster and indeed even a moderator at this site; I quit doing both due to time constraints and a few career goals I'm pursuing that take much of my time.

Nevertheless, this is, if I recall correctly, the 3rd DaL thread (hence "again"), not counting a few spin-up threads that thrived by the time of the very popular original, dominated by posters that aren't around anymore (me, curtsibiling, Alcibiates, rheinmetall, etc...).

Anyway, I come from time to time to check threads and post my drawings (that are unfortunately growing scarce for the same reasons I left the forum). I created the original DaL thread and owe to it quite a lot, for it was in here that I first begun digital painting... My original attempts in the first thread were downright awful.

Regards :).

BTW, I surfed a bit through the thread and realized that, while unfortunatelly a hard drive failure made me loose the project file, so I probably won't be able to finish this, I never really posted how far ahead I went into painting one of Curtsibiling's warladies in this forum.

So here it goes:

Great, Fred. Good to see you're back.

How did we ever live without you?

You draw with pencil. You're half-way there already.

Speaking of DYOS, and since it's been a while since I contributed to this thread...

kriegercollage.png

Captain Rudolph Krieger, ex-KSK, hired under contract by the Eastern Union. I can't say much more than that without risking plot spoilers for current DYOSes. Krieger, along with a handful of other hand-drawn characters of mine, predates my involvement with DYOS. He was created in a one-off sketch in a visual gag, but something about that first draft appealed to me, and he was later incorporated into my umpteenth attempt at a serial comic of which I still have the original 10 pages. By God, have my drawing skills improved over the years.

Krieger's character has changed greatly since his introduction, moreso I think than even Mr. Toyoda. His background was vague, his motives generic, but over time I gained a greater sense of him as a person and was able to piece together a plausible history that helped me better define him as a soldier and a world citizen.

Here we have a little collage from recent DYOS contributions. I would have added more, but the further back I went, the worse the drawings got. Top left: he has just landed after leaping from a helicopter shot up by Space Nazis; that thing in his right hand is supposed to be a gun. Bottom left: although captured by the Canadian resistance, he has the audacity to ask for room service. Right: he reflects on his brief encounter with Captain2 (pursuant to bottom left), who in DYOS XI had recently died; this is actually the first time I've drawn him wearing his Bundeswehr uniform.

Somehow, Tanicusfox's work almost looks similar to my drawings I've done in elementary school. Though they have been lost through the passage of time. Though now-a-days, I probably cant draw for beans in comparison with the more advanced drawers here (more likely laughed at since I can't draw people). Plus dont have a working scanner anyway.

...Is this a good a time as any to probe for something Sonic-related? :mischief: I remember you commented(on that dead Sonic thread) that every so often you'd include something related to Sonic in the DYOS threads, but I never dug deep enough I suppose...

Perhaps would give me a good reason to dig out some Sonic related ragdolls for Garry's Mod :mischief:. Though my medium is mainly Machinima (using Garry's Mod and Fallout 3) and photoshoping when it comes to making comics.

Halfway? :) What else do I need? I imagine something related to the hacker storyline, yes? I already have a good idea... I'm just not sure if I'd be able to use it...

Since I'm a senior, I don't know whether to take that as offense or praise. Doesn't matter though... I was much worse in my junior high days... when I actually started to draw and post on deviantart and whatnot. (I was just as much a Sonicphile back then as now though. :mischief: )

Well, you're able to actually wrap your head around machinima. I can't say the same about myself. :(

A friend of mine uses machinima a lot and posts the animations on Youtube... in fact, I once voiced Rouge(he liked one of my impressions so much he asked me to do the role... obviously, I do better as the guys) from SA2 in one of them:

Spoiler :

...It's a bit odd, but I can't resist shameless self-promotion. And it still qualifies as art, even if it's not my own(apart from my voice acting, which I don't think is good, but I tried), so I figured I could use that to justify this post... :mischief:

P.S. Any comments should be redirected to the actual video and not here, to avoid spam.

But yes. I think I'll try to sketch out my DYOS idea and post it here to test the waters. Hopefully, it will pass all the rules... =x
