Completely understood, was just pointing it out.

Regardless, you've given me a new background, been needing one for some time :D

Background? As in desktop?

I like it :) For some dramatic effect, you could add a distorted reflection in the viewglass.

I thought that I'd have a go at the new draw your own story this time round. Here are two of my proposed panels (minus text and background) for a six-panel comic of me entering the thread:

Spoiler first panel :
Preliminary sketch:

Cleaned up (traced, actually) black-and-white:

Comments, suggestions, questions, heckling?

I drew these by taking photos of myself and then sketching them in pencil. Once I'd got them sort of OK, I went over the best lines in black Biro, then traced those lines onto a new sheet of paper. I photocopied that and played around with some coloured pencils for the final versions. I then snapped them all with my camera, Bluetoothed those to the Mac, copied them to the USB stick, brought that onto campus, uploaded them to Photobucket, and then linked them here. /dies of exhaustion

That's awesome :goodjob:

I actually prefer the non-cleaned up versions, but that's just my own preference for more scrappiness in pencil drawings. Also helps with making up crease-marks in clothes, if I feel like cheating :mischief: I wanna see more!

I could draw a ******** looking smiley face...but I don't think that would make the artistic talent here:lol:

bd41094: see post 286. ;)

Here's the first sketch I doodled for the above drawings, which made me realise that, a) it's been more than a decade since I last did any real drawing, and I am now pretty bad at it, b) I need a model, c) I have myself and a camera. I think the head/hair in this one is better than the first, and the pose looks a bit more natural, but everything else is pretty terrible.

I don't know it would be that bad but something close to it maybe you might just see one day.

When you can't think of anything to draw you draw anything.

Random objects on the table.

Currently in the process of recreating an old comic I did, which is half-working, half not. Just a sketch I did for it that never really got finished.

One passes through the door of the deep-blue church, spends a little while inside sitting on one of the chairs, and then runs outside to be devoured by the hell-gate ;)

@Kan: Who's your friend?

That's Chris, who is of the species 'Ginger' and as such, quite the psychopath in Duck. Despite that, he was in charge of the Duckland Army for a couple of years, until forced to stand down as part of the peace agreement with the Ginger Nation when they returned from the moon. He had trapped them all there in order to proclaim himself 'the last Ginger on Earth.'

Ah, these were fun to write.

Damn, my webspace provided by the ISP doesn't work for some reason..

The wave of crappy sketches
