I had my first dream ever that I killed someone. The person (my dreams are almost always strangers -everyone in this dream was a stranger except a brief appearence at the end, which had nothing to do with the rest of the dream) was treatening someone else (we were in the old west and I was with a non-criminal posse getting ready for some time in the field). So this guy was threatening someone with a gun and I took the gun from him but then he drew 2 more at me and I drew and shot him. I've never had a gun work in a dream before. They always fail and I'm forced to outsmart my threat. It's the closest thing I've had to a nightmare in a long time. Really shook me.
I've no idea what to make of my western dream. I hope the sheriff doesn't continue to haunt me/try to cuff me and take me to the judge in the everglades.

Let's tell and discuss dreams, any context. Personally, I don't think mainstream, mass-produced explainations are valid. I think the same image/course of events can mean something entirely different for different people. Or is there common symbolism, to what extent
I think the real value is to enjoy dreams. To try to understand/explain them is rather a waste of effort.
Do you think there are things that mean the same thing for everyone... like X image = X, etc. Or that events mean common experiences/tribulations?
Like the teeth falling out thing... Stress, feeling loss or need to see the dentist?
Does anyone here physically record their dreams? I read a book written by Patricia Garfield who claimed in it to wake and write, in the dark, 3-5 times per night to record vivid and lucid dreams. She found correlation and causation in repetitive images and events to discern meaning. That seems a bit over-the-top to me.
