It may give us a clue as to what conquest scenario it might be in.
It sounds French, maybe there is a war of the roses scenario?
Can't put a civ to it, but the trebuchet was a medieval seige weapon that had a heavy counterweight at one end and a REALLY BIG ROCK

at the other. Basically, a bunch of guys with ropes tied the REALLY BIG ROCK

down until King Bob

from whereverland gave the command to fire. Then they would release the REALLY BIG ROCK

. The counterweight would go down, the REALLY BIG ROCK

would go up, and anything between Point A and Point B would be history. The objective of the attacker was to bring down as much of the castle as he possibly could, while the objective of the defender was to GET THE HELL AWAY FROM THE REALLY BIG ROCK

!!!
Along with throwing REALLY BIG ROCK

's, the ancient Mongolians under Genghis Khan used trebuchets to throw bodies infected with disease, the first known instance of biological warfare. Later, in the 12th through early 14th centuries (the peak of Feudalism), feudal lords would hurl dead cows over castle walls in much the same manner.
About the word trebuchet sounding French, it most likely originated during the Norman invasion of England by William the Conqueror during the early 11th century.
