i was wondering if any one had a map of what the earth may look like in the near and distant future?

from what i hear, parts of florida and some major costal cities will be under watter, and sea leavls may rise my 20 feet or something like that..

allso the amizon may be come a desrted, or start desrtefacation some time soon.

i allso was wondering if any one had maps of thear the continaits may be in the distant futer, like a million, 2 million or 20 million years from now?

i did acualy, but didnt find it, i probly just overlooked it! lol

That doesn't look right. I'm pretty sure Australia is likely to be a bit further north and mashed into Asia proper, not attached to Antarctica again.

Why do you say that?

What I'd like to know is if there's an Earth map that's at least in 10,000 year increments from present day.

Doubtful, that is probably finer detail than we have the ability to predict.

It's a chaotic system; that's only one possible forecast.

Those are only maps if there aren't new continental plates created by one fracturing in half. There is a fault line that runs north/south just west of the Appalachias. Lest say that cracks big time after the mega-volcano called Yellow Stone explodes they could start drifting apart cutting the North American shelf in twain. Granted those would be ultra-cataclysmic events and would destroy most of humanity but its seldom factored in to drift models.

Oh well I guess 10,000 years won't yield quite a dramatic result if that map of the ice age indicates anything.

Now I'm wondering what the map would look like on a worst case scenario of global warming.

I wonder what sort of species inhabit this planet by the time those 2 maps above become reality..?

I bet a few sentient species will have made their mark by then. Heck perhaps there'll be a civilization of highly advanced and space faring sentient crows.

Amazing what the first link of a google search on "map of the Earth in the future" can do.

I wonder how the mditteranean will become a montain chain. massive earthquake, or it'l slowly skrink till theres nothing left[question mark;keyboard no work, using onscreen keybrd].

Just another map I remember seeing. Plus I know we're moving north towards Indonesia and the Phillipines at present.

That said, we're on the same plate as India, maybe it will split.

Look at Europe all collapsed and crushed while America is still going strong.

Yeah, but look at the colour of most of america....starting to match that of the slowing migrating Sahara and Gobi deserts, no?
