EB Store Update

The local EB called me at 11:49am Eastern to let me know my in-store pickup was ready. You could tell they didnt waste any time before making the calls. When I got to the store the opened UPS boxes were still sitting in front of the cabinet where they stored the games.

My local EBGames store just called to tell me that my pre-ordered Civ4 is ready for pickup!

This is Exton, PA (Philadelphia suburb).

I have my copy in my car right now. I'll get around to installing it sometime tonight.

Of interest to those of you who didn't preorder, my EBGames (Rockville, MD) said they got 20 copies in. 10 are preorders, all of which were already spoken for. Of the other 10, 4 of them were bought off the shelf within 30 minutes, the other 6 have been purchased for in-store pickup.

The manager said they were almost certainly in backorder for any more copies.

It looks like the demand is pretty high for these. Grab 'em while you can.

I just picked up my pre-order in Coventry, PA as they were unpacking it. I didn't even realize I was getting the special edition (I'm glad I preordered).

The last several games I've pre-ordered from EB games all arrived in the store at almost precisely 3:00 pm on a Wednesday, regardless of the announced release date (Mon., Tues., or Wed.). Coincidence?

Installing it now. EBGames preorder arrived from overnight shipping pre-order 2pm mountain time. I'm in Albuquerque, it came from Kentucky.

Just to update my previous post, I called EB today and was told the pre-orders had arrived (that'd be me) but that the regular versions had not. So, I'm off to pick it up.

But when I went to UPS with that number, it's not registering.

Every company is on the slow side to put the tracking number on their website, it first needs a scan at the first depot to give it a location....... Don't worry, you'll be able to track it later today!

I just picked up my preorder from the EB Games in Northpoint Shopping Center in Arlington Heights, IL. Apparently they had 9 preorders and only received 8 copies, so if you have a preorder there, you better hurry over to get it.

Anyway, I ordered yesterday from EBGames.com. Call this morning to check on the status, since the web site just says "open", and the guy said it's on track to be delivered tomorrow. Next time I won't even bother with Amazon.

Are you sure its UPS and not USPS? I choose the cheap shipping option and EB sent it via US Postal Service, and I can track it from there. I'm hoping I get it on Friday

BestBuy doesn't have them yet.
