EltNES: THIS World is Yours

9 Points
5 points to make those hills in F10 full of metal
4 points to make F10, F11, E10, & E11 mediterranean climate

nutranurse: Got it. Are you planning on making those islands your home?

Yep! Seafaring metal merchants

Argh, Nutra you took my islands now I'll have to think of something else.

8 points:
horses in E-7 (5 points)
Bank 3 points

Oh, those were your islands?

hmm, could I set a Migration route for the mammoths? they head for the E4 area late fall, and onward to the D-E6 area where they stay for winter. calves will tend to be born here. head back to C3 area near the end of winter and arrive sometime in mid spring.

and the climate I wanted for there is similar to the Washington-Oregon area, and is pretty much as you describe.

nutranurse: ISLAND FITE

Terrance: Ahh an excellent source for the coal. Hilly. Don't worry, the d20 turn is soon. I'm sure you won't get absolutely jipped twice in a row. Save up, sonnnnn.

merciary: You could co-habit the islands with him. Finally someone else places freaking horses. errr i mean ISLAND FITE

TerrisH: Absolutely, however much like fish they return to a specific spawning ground in the northwest, which currently is the only place from which you may access their population. Gamey mechanic, sorry.

Gem Hound: This place is really shaping up. Secretly, it is one of my favorite places.

ooc: I can see how this NES is infuriatingly fun. Expect me to copy this model at some point in the future.

It is unfortunate that you joined near the end of the geological phase then, but I am not sure I understand what you mean.

I feel weak admitting that in-thread.

Infuriating due to the not having enough points to do all you want (but that probably is just a product of me joining in late) and the vague atmosphere of competition as we try to build up our little corners of the world so that we can prosper in the next era. I am surprised that there is a lot less geographic-sniping going on with some player making a volcano pop up somewhere or making a proto-landscape an infertile swamp.

I am also very surprised. There has been virtually no competition. Maybe too few players and too much extra space for that?

I don't want happy quiet building like that in the next phase. I may either give myself (or everyone) way more points so they can screw with eachother, or make things cheaper, or make a cradle, or I don't know what. (very unlikely that I'll make a cradle.)

Suggestions, anyone?

Competition!

Screw the cradle idea. I would lean towards making things cheaper so that points go further. Giving us more points kind of cheapens the whole point-system, but making things cheaper opens up a world of (terrible) opportunities for us, but forcing us to make the hard decision between hurling a fireball at another player's prize wonder or systematically destroying it by converting the entire climate into a hellish wasteland. Decisions, decisions!

Nah, I hate awards like that because they are entirely subjective.

I might take the southern islands and fight you for the whole region, might make it more interesting.
Also I've avoided geo-sniping mainly because I've wanted an interesting world not to just make a great start for myself, i think that's what most people have been trying to do as well.

Edit: While I'm thinking about it does anyone else really want to just place oceans through E-8 and E-9, the size of that landmass is starting to bother me?

I already asked for that for a reason other than cosmetic. Mine was ocean currents defining climate. If we factor those in, the most of the Northern coast of the continent is Sub Arctic.
