Emperor Cookbook Bullpen

I'd be be quite happy to do emperor cookbook as well ,-)

considering that emperor is right between monarch and immortal i think that immortal could be for emperor-immortal players and monarch well for prince-monarch players.

Tough to judge audience for 3 cookbooks (I see here influx of new players on noble-prince level that could be hopefully interested in monarch cookbook which if is taken best save of 1st round makes easier time in 2nd round)...

I had mentioned elsewhere that if Kos is willing to make a Monarch version of his map, I will administer a Monarch Cookbook. It would be interesting as it would allow less experienced players to later view the higher level cookbook to see how it was played out. As administrator (I'll be playing the IMM version), I'll get the game thread started and manage the timing of rounds and votes.

Saves for both Immortal and Monarch Cookbooks have been pm'd!

It should be interesting to view both threads to see the AI differences (and human I guess :p).

Anyway, here's a teaser for those too impatient for the threads to be opened!

One's on Immortal (for people learning ~Emperor-ish) and the other is on Monarch (for people crossing the Archery gap).

Have I missed something here? I assumed something called "Emperor" would be at Emperor level, Not Monarch or Immortal.

Well, this series started on Monarch and then moved to Emperor. It is now graduating to IMM level. A Monarch game is being provided as well to allow less experienced players to enjoy the same game. There will be 2 separate threads for each game.

How about a version at Emperor, for those of us that aren't yet ready for Immortal?

RJM - The nice thing about Cookbooks is that they are for people looking to move up or trying to get better. You don't have to be an IMM player to play the IMM save. Most folks playing the EC (IC) will not be IMM players, but rather folks that are at least comfortable at or have won on the Emperor level. It's not a forum game in the traditional sense and the nice thing is that there should always be a good save to play from at the end of each round after the votes. If you have not done so already, I suggest clicking the link in the OP to the original Cookbook thread that explains the format. Gumbolt will be modifying the format a little for the next game, I believe.

IMO Running 3 concurrent cookbooks, 1 difficulty apart, using the same map is a bit of a mess.

I'm comfortable at Monarch, but not (yet) at Emperor; I suspect Immortal would be a step too far for me.

Doesn't hurt to try and the process should make Emperor easier for you.

just have the same feeling as RJM...I am somewhat comfortable at Monarch (at epic speeds anyway, outexpanding, outteching etc.), but didnt finish any Emperor game yet...

would you suggest such person to go with Monarch Cookbook or Immortal?

I'm with Lymond when saying that three difficulties, all one level apart, seems very disorganized. It would be better for just two. If you're split for which one to play I would go play Immortal and because of the format it makes the game a lot easier.
