Enhanced User Interface v1.30m

Crashed at turn 35 -- not sure if there's something that often happens around that turn, I'm on Standard game pace, 12 players, 24 city states. I've had a few crashes at that turn. Could it be memory leak that piles up by that time?
 
Alright -- with 1.29b7a, I'm not crashing but getting hung. Epic game speed, it hangs on barb turn. This happened on loading the save, so it happened reproducible, I think...

The save here is on turn 70. Go to turn 71 and it'll hang.

makes me wonder what the connection is, the crash I had earlier on 1.29b7a was on Standard speed, turn 35. This hang was on Epic, turn 70. Multiples? O.o

edit: testing a marathon game. On turn 55, I couldn't click next turn (I think there was a unit that needed orders I didn't realize, because saving then loading, showed the unit in the action panel.. but didn't show before that... couldn't get past the "end turn" because there was a unit but it didn't show on the action panel..)

not sure, but it seems like the flaky event system is being destabilized
Ok, now even with the older version i have problems after the turn of the barbarians, which is weird since in my other pc this problem doesnt happen, is because i have win 10? however i managed to get the save file, the game crashes at turn 116/117 always. (Mods: Infoaddict v22). Guess i have to play without enhanced user interface which is a shame, great mod.
did you try the non-beta version v1.28g ?
Do i need some version of windows net framework? could that be the problem?

Thats weird, in my case it is in the 116/117 turn, with the new version (Yes, i tried to play again and it worked, but without fullscreen). Epic speed too
thanks or the tests and save game... I don't have access to Civ V ATM, could you try playing with version 1.29beta7a but removing both its InGame and PlotHelp modules (delete the corresponding folder from UI_bc1) ? The aim is to try to isolate the offending module... The new YieldIconManager might require too much graphic resources as well

Playing without PlotHelp: crashed on 36
Playing without InGame: crashed on 27
Playing with both disabled: hung at turn 96, but didn't reproduce when I loaded save.

If you mean the graphics load from your new large icons on resources, they were still showing with those above disabled.

I'll try YieldIconManager...

edit: PlotHelp, InGame, YieldIconManager all disabled, crash turn 78...
edit: crashed with above, plus NotificationPanel at turn 73.

edit: I've been trying a bunch of combinations and things.

So far, I have made it to turn 121 by disabling yieldiconmanager+unitpanel (I didn't continue on past that, I usually crash before then. it didn't crash, I quit to test other combos). I made it to turn 150 with those two plus some others(plothelp, ingame, yieldicon, notification, and unitpanel) (again didn't crash, I just quit to try other combinations). So, as far as I can tell so far, disabling Yield Icon and UnitPanel together at the same time seems to fix crashes so far... I've tried many different combinations of UnitPanel, Yield icon, PlotHelp, Notification, InGame...

1) Selecting my unit during barbarian turn causes hang
2) Ingame causes a few oddities:
a) sometimes the research button won't dismiss
b) sometimes the end turn button won't dismiss, but this has always been a case of a unit needing orders, but the unit action needed not appearing in the button; manually selecting the unit fixes this.
c) Seems like (but not 100%) this (or maybe another element) causes a situation where city bombardment or archer bombardment etc, shows the arrow but it just can't be clicked or finish to attack -- again, selecting something else and going back to the city/unit in question fixes this.
d) the Policy button doesn't bring up the policy screen (I know I brought this up, and it's minor, but it's tied to the button -- in vanilla, clicking the policy notification brings up the policy screen, even with policy saving active. right-clicking the action button or the notification dismisses it--with InGame active, left clicking dismisses it and never brings up the screen at all).

My laptop goes more turns before crashing. It's windows 10, but otherwise lower hardware than my desktop.

And I just tried removing the InGame and PlotHelp again, still crash on 38.
 
I assume it was for debug purposes, but several of the action button strings are really long now (pics below).

With policy saving on, now it can NEVER be dismissed or proceed after, with or without selecting one. It's acting like that intermittent research one.

Still have issue with "end turn" showing up but a unit needing orders.

Crashed at turn 36, but this time it was city state turn (either them, or on transition to barb; not sure. Like the previous crashes showed barb turn but it could have been the transition to player.)

Also I think your links for most recent stable version should link to 1.28,g instead of 1.29

edit: Curious why you can't play civ 5 :P would make dev easier..

Alright. I see the states you've put on the button to track stuff. I'm still trying to reproduce, but the crashes make it hard :p

I did manage to get the no end turn thing again. It showed "End turn" but I couldn't. I manually selected my unit (I cycled to it with the , key), and then it was showing 0 for the unit action thing, on both.

Also, with policy saving active, right clicking the button doesn't dismiss it (but right clicking it on the ribbon does).

I haven't gotten the "not able to end turn" for research again yet.
 
Still got the "end turn" where it needs unit orders but it requires me to manually select it.

Crashed turn 85, so it made it longer than usual at least
 
Hi, I really appreciate the EUI!

In an older version (got a new PC), I was able to mouse-over barbarian encampments and it would tell if if a city state wanted it killed. I don't have that same thing in the newer version. Is there a way for me to play with the files and bring that feature back?

Also, is there a way to stop yield icons from popping up every time i select the settler?

I've installed 1.28 and 1.29 (and whatever betas). Currently I have 1.28 installed.

My game invariably crashes. Every game. Multiple times. Every time it's on the city-state turn. It can happen at any time. Usually between turns 30-150 for the first crash, and again at any point after reloading the game usually somewhere between 30-150 turns

If you go back through this thread you can see the dozens of other users with the exact same issue. Do you acknowledge that there is an issue?

The replies with crashes are for the beta 1.29 -- 1.28 has been widely used for years by many thousands of people, and is stable.

I must have lost you somewhere, but I believe my post is easily comprehended. Please re-read it.


When I first downloaded the Enhanced UI the version that was current then was 1.28. It invariably made my game crash. Go back through the thread. And look at posts dated around the same timeframe when 1.28 was the current version. There are numerous reports of crashes

Do you understand the word invariable?
 
So, I got this mod because its sooo useful, but in singleplayer, turn 1, the game crashes at the barbarian turn processing. Got it to work in MP lasst night, just not in SP for what ever reason. Yes I followed the instructions to the letter, no other mods, all dlc and expansions. WHAT DO I DO TO FIX IT?????

We first have to get the creator to acknowledge there is a problem. You can go back through the thread and find his posts where they say they can't duplicate the error regardless of the dozens of posts that say the mod crashes the game
