Epic Art & Desktops

What? I'm unsure whether that comment was directed at me or not.

Spoiler :
I dislike practically everything about Denmark, as we have been phailing for 400 years or so. Especially the nowadays politics is making me moody. However, I am quite aggressive against Sweden still since I think they're ridiculously overrated as a nation compared to, yeah, Denmark. Sorry Swedes, but I never saw you conquer England, discover America or have Swedish immigrants pouring into your nation because your earth quality sucks (:p Yeah I am referring to Denmark myself again). Just because you happened to have England bombard Denmark, forcing Denmark into the Napoleonic Wars, resulting in a lucky grab of territory it doesn't mean you deservedly conquered Norway.

I just have old roots bound in my with pride of Denmarks archievements before Christian IV ruined our economy. That's all.

Not aimed at you LJ.

I was afraid you were not joking. Okay, sure, the photos and portraits were a bit unwarranted, as was the map of Scania (though that was more Danophobia than patriotic fervour), but a) the nationalism thing is a joke (a Danish joke originally, mind you; those are infamous for being misunderstood) and b) the rest is good, or at least was supposed to be good. Also, I'm not aware that China is my nation either. :p

I had no idea that foreign people knew this. I am constantly misunderstood by them because they don't get that the things I say are pure irony from time to time.

1, Wow, the testing NUKE is stronger than the WAR NUKE.

Silver, this is one of hundreds of color photos taken by Sergai M. Prokudin-Gorski in the early 20th c. Here is a link to his amazing work.

IIRC the original glass negatives (3 per photo) are now in the Library of Congress. I discovered him in the 1980s while researching Borodino and got copies of some of his pictures taken to celebrate the 100th Anniversary. For those of you who know that battle here is one taken from the site of the fleches looking west towards the French advance.

There is something so cool about dreadnoughts... flying although they look to rounded for my taste.

My opinion = Lord Iggy wins this thread, though Thlayli comes close second :)

I thought I'd finally share some pictures from my own HD that I have at least thought about using as a desktop background.
