erezNES - Waves of Civilization

From the High King of Talon
To the Elite Families of Talon;

I'm willing to cut a deal and let all of you become the holder class under the rule; our lands will be split as such that you control the majority of what goes on in your cities, but the countryside will be kept under the rule of the king for the most part and taxes will be paid unto the crown. In return, your family members will marry into the royal family and become generals and leaders of high esteem. Is this good?

To Carome
From Romarge

We will only accept, at the very least, you become our 'vassal.'

Failure to accept will result in further war.

OOC: Shouldn't Carome's 3 units be -3 upkeep?

And how do they have such a large militia force if the population is held there against their will?
Fixed. And since when 5 is large? It's 5000 men technically... And more importantly, it isn't held against its will anymore, the merchants lost their power, and the population isn't kin on moving to be controlled by other merchants...

to Romarge
from Carome:
What does vassalization include?

to Talon
from some Elite families: We accept your deal.
from other Elite families: For now... We shall remain within Talon.
from some other Elite families: Our city is strong. We demand more powers.

OOC: Good point

IC:
To Carome
From Romarge

Your nation becomes part of ours but retains relative autonomy. You govern the city as you see fit, within reason, and we control your foreign policy.

Also, a tribute of 1EP is required.

From the High King of Talon
To the Elite Families of Talon;

Spoils of war and new cities for control and prosperity will be divvied up by who shows the most loyalty to the crown itself. We will decide who gets more based upon this deal here.

To the Iberi
From Tricarum

We would like to offer a cease fire between our two nations. There is no need for excessive bloodshed.

A cease fire will be accepted if you agree that the border between Tricarum and the Iberi will be the Marius River. You will old no lands south of the river and we shall hold no lands to the north.

OOC: Good point

If you allow me (the general) to hold my own private army and have an influence in your council than I will agree.

Only time will tell. Prove to us your ability and we shall stand united behind you. Vanquish the entire Latin tribe.

To Carome
From Romarge

Of course that will be allowed. However, the army cannot exceed five thousand men. Agreed?

OOC: That was a damn good update, I'll have to write a Nassiric version of the Iliad.

From: Nassiros
To: Eubeis, Nitteris, and Alderos

We will compromise and give the Eubeians autonomy in every aspect of their nation but trade and foreign policy.

From: Nassiros
To: Ionian Horde

No Nassiric nation, whether they are Chymedian or Netteran, will fall to invaders! AQYO ALLATAN!*

From: Nassiros
To: Minoa

We will not back down, the Cretos Colony is ours!

*Aqyo Allaton is a Nassiric phrase meaning "Aqyos grants us victory".

OOC: Great update! However... although I applaud your handling of failing me, and I DO NOT contest that, the WAY and RESULTs bug me because they are out of character for the culture. I shall PM you with the details.

From the High King of Talon
To the Elite Families of Talon;

The Latin tribes are unlikely to survive.

OOC: I am going to assume the general accepts my terms, or some variation of said terms.

IC:
Anton Nemore walked through the newly obtained city with its new leader, Bruti Rocco. Rocco had recently capitulated and accepted vassalization, a new method of Romarge expansion. Anton now wished to expect Carome, and see what improvements could be made. He started in the town center, near the palace the corrupt dictators had built for themselves before Rocco's ascension. He walked down a side street, ducked through a low gate, and suddenly found himself in the port of Carome. Although not as big as the newly constructed Romarginian port, it was still an impressive sight. Trade barges glided in, skiffs loaded them with goods, and the barges, now laden with cargo, sailed away. As always, seeing commerce in action made Anton proud to be the leader of his great nation. However, he had a job to do, and he resumed his stroll.

After a long walk, winding through convoluted streets and passing countless apartments, Anton arrived at his next stop: the barracks. He looked upon the five thousand soldiers, loyal to Bruti. They were an impressive fighting machine, and Nemore prayed he would never have to face them in battle again. Luckily, Rocco seemed loyal enough, and he knew that Anton could crush him in an instant. After gazing upon the soldiers, they continued their expedition, heading towards the market. So far, Carome seemed to be in perfect shape.

OOC: What happened to my quest to build "slightly bigger boats"? And when can we build a new UU? Orders incoming.

From His Supreme Dreadfulness, Protector of the Nogaia, King of Yakot and Overlord of the Kele, Selasikas Karos, Scion of the Unspeakable King
To the Monarchs of Fula and Patu

I am not my mother.

My mother lusted after a dying priest, and lived a strange fantasy as he died of ritualistic backlash (too many hallucinogenic drugs). When he died, she claimed he was the Unspeakable King reborn, and launched this despicable attack on you. Meanwhile, she ordered me to be cooked like a pheasant, and only through regrettable means was I able to dodge this fate.

I will do what you asked, however, I will also do more.

You see, the Kings of Yakot have always been paranoid of the Fisofi. Within our new walls are many, many acres of fertile gardens, feeding nearly half of our city itself. Fishing feeds another third. Our granaries, scattered throughout the city near the old walls are full to the brim with grain and nonperishables, to be cycled with fresh as the seasons wear on. As of now, a single city's farmland and two city's citadels have to support two cities' worth of degate. Do not kid yourselves, there is not enough food to go around. The Suigaia are hit as hard as we are, and their food prices are simply exorbitant. For the good of all Nogaia, I offer this deal:

In return for 1) sending priests to help me erase the Selasi of my mother from the heavens and for pardoning the terrible conduct of her iness, as well as 2) accepting my daughter Farzu's hand in marriage into your alliance, I shall lay 1EP's worth of grain outside the city, to be guarded by a single unit of militia on it. Send barges to pick it up and feed your beseiged inhabitants. This is no trick because 1) it is on nuetral ground, my militia can't overpower any guards you send with your barges, while I can trust that the barges won't stream up the harbor into my citadel and 2) I am NOT my mother, may the Dread Citadel spite her name.

I will of course position more militia to prevent the Fisofi from seizing these supplies, as well as attack them as you suggested.

from Nitteris and Alderos:
If Nassiros forces will land in Eubeis we will go to war with you. Eubeis lost, if anyone will help them, it will be us, and we prefer it will be no one. The Ionians have been defeated as a fighting force and now trade with us peacefully, why should we continue to fight them anyway?
from Ionian League:
Truly you must be mad. We will crash you like a bug.
from Minoa:
This is your last chance.

Egypt is going to die eh :p? I'm joking ;)

Enough with the big ships :p. Yes your little boats are a bit bigger then everyone elses and your barges carry a bit more.

from Fula:
We accept the supplies and support. May your mothers sins be erased. I will accept your daughter to wed my son, he may not be the future king, but it will cement our alliance for now.

from Patu:
We need no extra supplies, for our city was not harmed much by the storm. We also wish for nothing from you at all, it is the Fula who are invaded, not us, and we do not trust you.

Xian Diplomacy

To O'mase: That is strange, last we heard they wanted to push forward against you once we finished with the Harhana. However; we will accept a peace on one extra condition. You have seen how the Harhana have grown and struck down the Ikenma, they are a threat that must be wiped out from the face of Xin. If you send your warriors to help fight them alongside the Siwang League then we will have peace with you.

To Ikenma: Oh how your tune changes. Last I heard you were going to march on us and conquer our lands. But I am an understanding man, give me one reason why I should help you instead of letting the Harhana weaken themselves against you and then destroying them when they finally defeat you?

To the Siwang League (Yuanti, Chi'zuna, Jinzhou): Now is indeed the time to strike against the Harhana and drive them out from our lands. But they are numerous and we cannot accomplish that with only peasant militia. First we must raise as many men as we can into a true army before taking out the Harhana.

Also I have come up with a new idea for an elite division of the Siwang League who is made up of our strongest men to serve as the vanguard of our army. They will be under the control of the entire league, not one of its members. We will all have to contribute towards creating them but I believe that they will be able to fight much better than any single division. They will be called the 前锋 (Chen'Fung). What say you to this proposal?
