erezNES - Waves of Civilization

Actually, if you read the numbers account for the maximum number of able-bodied men you can raise. Nowhere are peasants taken out whatsoever, the end result is the maximum size of the army, be they levies or be they troops you decided to train because you can afford it.

You sure? Yeah your'e right. It removes women, too young and old, those no physically capable etc...

Ok. So consider all units 100 men for the time being. But that's only cosmetic, military will go through another big change to become more realistic in both numbers and pay.

So I'm going to fix (sorry Terrance, I understand the women allowed to wield weapons part, but I doubt they would considering they have babies to feed and raise - and I want a one number fits all) the military stats, and prices (they will be higher) so please wait with the orders until I'm done.

Which of course means I will make the deadline further away. I'll be done with this in a day or two.

Hey terrance just wanted to tell you that in fact:
Other requirements (navy, town watch, border guards, customs agents, bodyguards, garrisons, camp guards) and lack of transport
-80 %
he did take out the peasants etc... (gave them a different name) and made them the majority of the army too (80%!). So I'll have to take that into account as well :p

It's still not much better. The army is still about 6%-12% of the population at most.

Just messing around ;).

I thought that the 80% means militia. So if I have 5 militia, 4 of them will be defensive and 1 of them will be, at most, trained to be pro'd.

You can also abuse all of the militia for fighting... At your own risk of course ;)

I've done most states and all that remain is the east Asians... Ah, you are always last. Now I'm off to sleep. So tomorrow final stats will be out - in the mean time you can see the "new" military rule and unique units prices ;)

Just going to say, for what you are trying to achieve here (as I see it from the reading), the new military system is "much" better (and more expensive, but hey). Kudos.

Which is nicer?

I think the second one is. It also keeps the mountains better, no?

(semi-)Symphonic style? In MY Fresh start?

I actually like #2. THE FORBODING BLACK LANDS OF THE UNKNOWN, TEEMING WITH BARBARIC HORDES EACH GREATER THAN THE LAST!

lol. Symphony style is complete black with glowing colors :p

Only problem in this is that horde become light grey...

#2 is better .
btw, why doesnt any of the iberian cities have their center of civilizations ? o.0

Question, Is the Latin Horde the horde that came from the north and crossed the Peninsula north -> South?

Yes the Latins are the horde going across the Italian peninsula. Most of them have settled by now in the Po river and northern Italy, the southern branch is still moving.

Everyone - your new stats have been updated! A LOT have changed! Enjoy :)

The deadline will be next week on wednesday so it gives you a while to get used to things.
Adding all your troops x a number between 6-12 will give you a number that is about your true population.

I also prefer map #2.

Since it's filled with layers that is impossible. I was lucky enough to find it hiding in my emails to Terrance...

The layers cannot be separated? How would you have begun the first update of the map?

Thanks for checking though.

The new military system seems more accurate now! If not more expensive..:cringe:. But seriously, It will help make a more realistic NES.

Can I just suggest one thing?
Spoiler :
Military: 1800 Militia, 200 Warriors (-2)
I think that it would be nice if you used a sectional divider when it comes to the "200 Warriors & other units."

For example:
Military: 1800 Militia, [200 Warriors {1}, ] (-2)

Breakdown: ['] Brackets to outline the unit section. Then the Unit Name/ Amount of men in that individual unit. Then {'} to signify how many of those individual units you have trained (Example: For two 200 Warrior units have {2}.)

Then after the closing bracket have the combined upkeep of those trained units like you already have.

I dont know if it would actually help any more or not, it is just a suggestion and I dont mind if you decide not to use it.
