Whispers had been circling around the desert near Sana'a. There were rumors that Bedouin people were beginning to form into powerful clans and take the many lands with them when they rose up. The military was rapidly evacuated out of Sana'a and Egypt so they would not be harmed in the conversion.
The rumors were true. North of Sana'a was a massive herd of Bedouin warriors ready to expand. They were ready to found a new empire and this was severely worrying. Ethiopian citizens were now fearing their neighbors as they appeared very powerful. This was a problem that would not go away.
Top Ethiopian generals were fearing Arabic expansion so they disbanded the territory on the Arabian Peninsula and in Egypt. Then, so the Arabs couldn't take Egypt and be very close to Ethiopia, the military was told to turn on the city they previously protected. They reluctantly agreed and began torching the buildings and cutting down men who tried to fight back with clubs. This was bleak but necessary to curb Arabia's expansion.
Unfortunately, when Makkah expanded and took Sana'a, they took a lot of the Ethiopian coast. This was quite an outrage but at least they left a major fishing region that was vital to Ethiopia. Unfortunately, though, the navy could now not leave Jabuuti because Arabia blocked all sea lanes out. The Kingdom of Aksum needed to expand. This is why Jabuuti was churning out settlers and because of the trapped galley, settlers could not be sailed off to foreign lands. This is why Hobya was tasked with building a new galley to transport a settler. In the mean time Jabuuti was told to build settlers to build cities in other places.
One group of settlers were sent to the West of Ethiopia to found a city between the cotton and elephants so that funds would increase. The men, women, and children were escorted by a group of archers and finally they reached their destination. They set up a city there known as Meroe. This would be vital for the creation of more money for the kingdom.
After much exploring, Ethiopia found what they considered sub-equatorial Africa and marked it on a large map. Cartographers showed Ethiopia what lands they were destined to conquer and hold.
The teachings of Allah under his prophet Muhammed had now reached Ethiopia in full force. The Quran had now become much more popular than the Bible in the cities and leaders understood this. Not only to increase the effectiveness of Organized Religion, but to also increase relations between Ethiopia and Arabia, the king Zara Yaqob determined it would be a good idea to change the official religion to Islam. Not long after this, Harun al-Rashid recognized Ethiopia as a friend and not a foe and offered the Ethiopians the right to travel out of they little bay they owned. Leader quickly agreed.
Natives were gathering in the jungles and marshes outside of Meroe. They were standing there, menacingly! They were threatening to take the city or at least cause havoc. Fortunately, Ethiopian troops saw this coming and stationed a division of swordsmen ready to defend the people of Meroe. Impis tried to invade into Ethiopian lands. They occupied the incense plantations in hostile takeover form. They were about to raze the plantation when Ethiopian soldiers marched in and cut down the barbarous warriors with their iron blades of justice.
The second group of settlers had now migrated South because a source of copper had been discovered. They were now protected y the entire Ethiopian horde of horse archers. They then proceeded to found the city of Gondar which would give all Ethiopians items out of silver and copper.
Ethiopia was attempting to perfect the art of construction. It was taking longer than expected so an envoy was sent to Arabia to learn this knowledge. Arab engineers offered to teach Ethiopians and in return there would be modest fee and Ethiopian priests and artists would teach Arabs how to not only meditate but make beautiful works of art.
Now that the galley had finally been finished in Hobya and it had set sail to the Southern part of Africa. After years of sailing, settlers and archers were finally able to step off the wooden desks onto soil. Almost immediately though, panthers and lions attacked the archers that were defending the settlers. Defeat almost overtook them but they prevailed in the end. The now safe settlers founded the city of Yeha. This was incredible! Finally, after years and years, it was found! A source of iron had been discovered! Only one expansion of the borders and both a source of copper and iron would be accessible. Not to mention the fact that the city was founded on a large vein of gold.
Ethiopia now spanned the entire Eastern coast of Africa. People had settled all along the continent to cement Ethiopia's dominance in all the lands. With a newly discovered source of iron, Ethiopia can now dominate on the battlefield. Sure we may be lacking in economics and science but things are surely looking up. The Ethiopian Empire is now large and in charge. Ethiopia: The Land of Wonder will rise to the challenge.
