Sweden:

The first five years were quiet for Sweden. They may rule over plenty of territory however Sweden certainly is not a rich nation which meant that there was little cash for wars. Particularly as the King believed that Denmark would demand 100 gold in war taxes if we declared war.

The main achievements were getting the military and infrastructure technologies to level 1 and expanding our colony. Some military leaders may have been annoyed by the choice of disbanding 6k troops and not taking the chance to declare war against Hannover when a claimant asked for our support.

Future aims should probably be to cancel our vassalship with Denmark whenever possible and perhaps invade Novgorod when the other Russian states declare war again. I am not sure whether we will be able to afford any war though.

What difficulty is it? And how many years do we play each (5 it seems)?

Edit: When should the vassalization be canceled? When +3 Stability? Do Denmark get 100 gold from us each time we're in war with them (as vassals)?

I think the first time our alliance goes to war we would pay 100 gold. I am not sure on when we can break the vassalisation. I don't mind how many people join. I'm happy for people to take it in turns and just rotate round when it looks like no one else is interested in playing a turn. Unless someone wants to keep track of the schedule.

I'm not going to be in this one, simply because I want more gaming time for my AAR's and what not. It's a shame, as I've never really played a northern country in EU, those winters keep bothering me.

If our stability is high enough, I will cancel the vassalage we have with Denmark. Do we have any tax collectors around? Could taking a loan be a good idea to promote tax collectors?

I canceled the vassalization we had with Denmark immediately. This caused a drop in stability, down to -1. It will be worth it in the long run though, as Denmark won't recieve a share of our tax money any more. However, our economic situation was still bad, so I decided to do two things: The first one was to only research in infrastructure. Some of the money were still going directly to the treasury, to keep us out of bankruptcy. The next level will be researched in 1430. The second thing I did was to take a loan. This is normaly a bad choice, but we really needed some tax collectors. With the loan the baillifs in Svealand, Bergslagen, Västergotland and Småland were promoted.

In august Muscovy + Pskov, Ryazan and Tver went to war against our neighbour Novgorod. Novgorod got many ugric provinces, which could be nice for us to acquire. However, with no CB it would cost us 4BB to DoW, so I don't do anything. Hopefully Muscovy and her allies won't get all their provinces.

A "Wave of Obscurantism" event occured in October. I went with react harshly, so we got +1 stability, +1 innovative, -2 missionaries at the cost of two rebellions in Tavastland. Only 2000 rebels spawned, so the winter was enough to take care of them. Our stability is now at +2.

We're now at +3 stability, so we're actually make some money. We won't be able to repay the loan when it expires in January 1429, but perhaps in 1434... Just one thing - take a new loan when the "repay loan" event shows. Repay the old loan with our new money. It's a bit gamey, but we won't get higher interest rates this way . If you feel that it is too gamey, just extend the old loan.

In June we get a Enthusiasm for the Army event - 5000 infantry in Tavastland. They are sent to Tavastland. I chose not to disband them, since we didn't get much more expenses due to maintenance. Note that we're just below the supportable amount limit.

Below are the situation in Novgorod at the new years day. Hopefully the Muscovian armies won't get past Karelia and the army there. Also a pic of the income is shown. Tax collectors do wonders to the economy, so getting more loans to promote baillifs could be a good idea (but no more than one loan at a time! ).

Massive amount of luck. We got a Gift to the State just before we had to pay our loan. Went one step towards Centralization. Trade center from Mecklenburg moved to Sjaelland, which is sieged by rebel scum.

New tax, revolt and +1 tax value in Österbotten and Gästrikland. Easily destroyed.

Bailiff promoted to Tax Collector in Finland. Royal marriage made with Muscowy as a sign of friendship.

Bailiff promoted to Tax Collector in Nyland. Unhappiness among the peasantry, I sided with the lords and destroyed the rebels. Quattara, Alexandria and Delta, so including two of the best Egyptian provinces, defected to Tunisia.

I've played EU2 as Sweden before. If you get into a war with the Danes, enter Finnmark and burn their trading post to the ground. You can then send your own colonists there, picking up a province. Same with Karelia and a couple of others to the east.

The Russians raise big armies, that are just not as technologically advanced as the Swedes, nor with as good leaders. They can be beat even if outnumbered 2-1.

Yeah, I have played Sweden many times so I know it. But Norway may never surrender to the Danes, seen it many times. Karelia, Kola, Finnmark and Narvik are great places to do the "conquer and settle" thingy.

I thought all those colonies had fortresses. Perhaps there are some differences between ACGEEP and vanilla regarding those provinces?

Good thing that you invested in economy, Hitti-Litti. I think we should be able to pull the "to treasury" slider all the way to the left now. Maybe we can afford some wars against our neighbours now. How did Novgorod do against Muscovy? And have Poland secured Danzig yet? I think we should get Danzig for ourselves, if it is possible

A bit OT question: Is it possible to play as Transylvania in the Grand Campaign with AGCEEP? I have tried to start as Hungary, but Transylvania doesn't appear on the release vassal list.

When will you bring Sweden onto further glory, Chukchi?

Ye can't play GC with Transylvania, but with Wallachia and Moldavia.

Not much happened. Built tax collectors in Österbotten, Savolaks, Tavastland and Västerbotten.

On 25th of April, 1435, this happened.

On 17th of January, 1437, this happened.

Luckily there was enough money (100), but it dropped stability by one. Eventually it went back up.

On 28th of May, 1438, this happened.

I went with the first one. The second would have dropped our stability by one.

On the first day of 1439, we got a new monarch, Christoffer of Bavaria.
