Evidence for creationism, Part 2.

The is no other possition of the moon that would cause such a spectical. Nor can I think of any other arangment of celstial bodies that would get close to the majesty of a total eclipse.
Arguments from personal incredulity aside, there is no inherent value to the proportions and spacing of various celestial bodies. That you find one particular arrangement pleasing is not evidence that there is a god.

the simple fact that complex life exists shows that the unlikely combination of celestial bodies required happens to exist. Nothing more, nothing less. it does not matter what the chances are; you can win a lottery with your first ever try.

You (probably) need a big moon for complex life to exist, but you do not have to have one that just covers the sun. That is what I built my probablility on.

Actually we have no idea whether a big moon is neccessary. Ok in the specific case of this planet the moon is very helpful and probably shaped evolution in a significant way. But the example of us is purely anecdote at this moment, as we don't have any other examples of life out there.

For example the latest edition of Scientific American speculates that possible plant life on Gliese 581g could be a lot darker than our own, due to the planet being tidally locked to it's sun (i.e. having the same side facing all the time), and thus having to develop different photosynthesis strategies. IIRC until relatively recently it was assumed that even if a world were in the "goldilocks zone" tidal lock to the sun would kill all chances for life due to the big differences in climate. They now accept it can be possible, due mainly to finding life in what is considered the most inhospitable areas of the earth.

In the infinitely random universe something like a total eclipse is likely a common thing.

Its so common that Jupiter has one every single day with just one of its moons.

Argument from probability would be a fine argument, if only those using such an argument know of the vast amounts of time and the vast amounts of space there was in this universe.

Even if something had a 1 in a million chance every billion years in a star system, that's not even remotely impressive.

"Gosh it's like one in a million!" Is like saying such an "unlikely" event is guaranteed to happen at least a 100 billion times, every billion years or so, for 13.75 billion years.

No, no no no no.

No.

Where's the evidence?

There's as much evidence for those supposed events as there is for Noah's Ark; namely, zero.

None of those are actually VERIFIABLE and can NEVER BE PROVEN, thus they should not be taken as true. If you want to engage science on its own terms and prove that creationism is anything but a purely religious mish-mash of flat-world ideas (with the same logic) than you must use science.

That was the point.

Only the disciples saw this. Therefore, they fabricated the ascension.

1. It is possible that they lied, but then we are still stuck with explaining why they would lie, why they would continue in the lie, why they would preach and teach honesty and truth based upon a lie, why they would suffer persecution for a lie, and why they would die for a lie. It just doesn't make sense.

Explain the above.

Explain Glenn Beck.

any evidence against them

Just a sidenote, that despite these "miracles" most were probably attributed to Apollonius of Tyana, and Jesus was hardly unique in that time, as with all "holymen" of that time, he had his fair share of "miracles".

Regardless, none of these can be proven scientifically and verified objectively.

Explain the above.

Even if it was "true" this could literally be said of ANY other holyman from any number of religions, or of even the various "holy men" of Jesus' time which existed much like him. Jesus is not unique. And we cannot actually prove this ever happened.
