Stacks of Roman armies march through our lands. What are they up to?

Japan and Zululand have signed a peace treaty.
The Babylonians are building Sistine Chapel. So are the French.
We join the party, if only to be able to switch to Sun Tzu if necessary.

990 AD:
The Americans offer us world maps for Theology. We turn him away. We offer him our territory map instead.

We learn Engineering from the GL!

New Nuremburg is founded.

1000 AD:
We learn the secret of Feudalism. Start on Invention.

Built a few roads and our economy is now improving slowly.. at least we are in the black.

1010 AD:
Aztecs and Egypt have signed a peace treaty.
The Babylonians and Russians are building Sun Tzu's Art of War.

1020 AD:
The Romans are moving huge stacks of horse to the frozen wasteland

1030 AD:
Zzzz

1040 AD:
Rome and Zululand have signed a peace treaty.
Everybody and their dog are building both Sistine and Sun Tsu.

1050 AD:
Japan wants alliance against the ztecs and ROP. Why? We are nowhere near them! We offer Territory maps instead.

Persians want to trade Territory maps. Very well.

This rioting is getting annoying. Our economy and production are in the toilet because I have to keep hiring Entertainers! The Romans still have nothing to trade.

WTH.. we have no harbours yet? Start one immediately in Cologne.
Can't trade over seas without one!

Why are none of our cities fully irrigated or mined by now? It's hardly changed in that respect since I last played! Konigsburg, one of our oldest cities, and Salzburg have virtually nothing.

Egypt and Zululand have signed a peace treaty.

Signed a peace treaty with Zululand, No unhappy people were complaining of war wearines but we had no need to continue it.

1150 AD:
More roads.

1160 AD:
Yet more roads

1170 AD:
France and Aztecs sign an alliance against America.
Rome demands Education. They are polite. We refuse. I give them our world map instead.

I spent most of the time building infrastructure. Expanded the road net. Now we need more roads, plus mines/irrigation as appropriate. Cities were stalled in growth and have poor production.

2 wonders are starting. Sistine and Art of War. We are bound to lose at least one through cascade effects. If so we can switch to Leo's, which we will have soon. Good luck!

Wow that went fast! I'm up in three games so I might take a little longer than usual, but I'll give it my best shot.

Hi guys - I could only play ten turns due to some personal issues, but I'll give my impressions of the game here.

First of all, we are really hurting in the happiness department, although it's really not our fault. Access to only one luxury is KILLING us, as we have our luxury tax a ten percent and we STILL have entertainers in almost every city. We must get the happiness wonders to help this.

Also, we are currently the science leader (by one tech), but our research rate is slow. We have a huge treasury left over from our Great Library days that we might want to dip into more.

With the happiness state as it is and our current form of government (Republic), we can't fight a war. My turn basically consisted of workers and infrastructure, so I won't go over the turn-by-turn here.

In other news, the world is at peace! :D

I'm really sorry about not being able to play more. Next time I'll do better I promise.:crazyeyes

Charliehoke don't worry about it, were all playing ten turns now so it is fine. Ok is Phontom still playing or has he also disappeared. if that is the case i'll get the game tonight. We are now down to 4 player guys so we are gonna be playing this more regulry.

Hi Everybody, I’m doctor Nick.

Ok on the inherited turn I looked at all of the cities and realized that there are too many entertainers. So I decided to go through each one and get as much blood from the stone as possible.

I ended up with an extra 20 gpt and so I increased the luxury tax so that it was now 20%. With this increase I could then go through all the cities again and got a bit more blood from the stone. In the end I managed to a lot more production and food to every city and also managed to shave 2 turns off of the sisten chapel and 5 turns off of sun Tzu.

I then went through all of the other civs and swapped our maps and managed to get 35 gold and improved relations.

I finally noticed about 7 gems free ready to be taken by the Germans, (us) and so I got a settler, a worker, a pikeman and a spearman ready for the trip up on my first turn.

1– I start the great pilgrimage up to the new diamond mines; get a right of passage from the stinking Romans.

3- Aztecs Demand invention, I decline and they declare war. On no. The scary Aztecs are gonna get us, There halfway across the world and it would take them at least 30 turns to get near us, Please help me I’m scared.

4- Because of all the new growth we are now at +5gpt, while still at 20% luxuries and a healthy 30% science.
- Since the Russians have invention I then decide to broker it as much as possible, getting cash and maps, Hurrah.

7- I put Hamburg on to a palace as a placeholder for JS Bach, but it can be used for another wonder if necessary.

10- Ok, I have in position a settler to build the mining town up north, with it is a worker and two defenders. More reinforcements should be shipped up there as this city is on the large mainland and can be used to trade for every luxury know to mankind. This city should rush buy its harbor as it will make the money back instantly by being able to lower the luxury tax. On a final note, if the Babylon’s ask for any thing, give it to them, as since there capital is centrally located they are very powerful. Oh and also because they’re coming second behind us buy just a few points.

Good luck Exsanguination.

Ps. Since Phantom and Igor seem to have dropped out the new order seems to be Exsanguination, Brian J, charliehoke, Gojky.

Now that we seem to be down to 4 players maybe we can speed this one up and get ready for EXIII !!! :D

I have decided to start each subsequent EX(x) game when the previous game reaches 1800 AD. You can begin signing up now if you'd like, but I will keep the paramters undisclosed until 1800 AD is reached.

alright, post 3 in one hour...

and I did play my turn - nothing big happened. The Babs declared War on us... who cares.

One big event happened on the last turn, however - the damn Babs finished the Sistene Chapel. so, I switched Berlin to LEo's (2 turns), Hamburg from Leo's to Sun Tzu's (32 turns) and finally Frankfurt to Palace (13 turns).

WE NEED THAT PALACE IN FRANKFURT. I DO NOT RECCOMEND CHANGING IT. It is perfectly located, and in 13 turns it can't be better. Brian J, its up to to decide where our FP will go - basically, its either north or south.

Feel free to change Sun Tzu to Berlin in order to finish it faster - but remember, one of the other civs still may beat us out by one turn on one or maybe even both. So be wary. I find Leo's more important, but Brian J - its up to you.

Final suggestions -

1) We are in horrible shape. I can't see how we are first in score. In essence, we are a conglomeration of weak cities. We MUST maximize production and commerce (hence new palace and FP).

2) New cologne (new city founded on gems way overseas) will be a pinnacle to trade and commerce. 5 gold per square is unbeatable. Get that city maximized and get that harbor built. (I believe I have it set to spearman - if we can rack up the cash then switch to harbor when necessary and rush it!)

3) Victory condition? Our only hopes now are diplomatic or histographic, and histographic is getting tense because of those pesky Babs. We need those spices and Incence to improve relations - we are 7th in approval rating. I think diplomatic victory is the only realistic possbility. SS is possible, but not likely.

GOOD LUCK, Brian J.

Sign me up for EXIII. Also, I'm sure we can still pull this one out - the AI falters once Steam Power is researched, so don't condemn us quite yet :p
