He said Fortuyn wasn't murdered because of anything to do with Islam. The guy who shot Fortuyn said it was to do with Islam.

Funny things is: That information was all provided by foreign media...
One would think that after a political murder the Dutch media would mention it if the killer had said something along these lines...

The problem is that idiot election was:

1 - Only a few months after Fortuijns death, so everybody was still thinking about it a lot, this the voting was skewed. If such an election was held right now Fortuijn wouldn't even be in the top 5...

2 - The voting system was seriously flawed. It was also proven a few days later that not all votes had yet been counted at the end of the TV-program, when Fortuijn was announced as winner. Two days later all votes were counted, and behold: Willem van Oranje "edges" Fortuijn by 20000 votes (of a total of about 1 million votes)...

People have short memories. Everybody else eligible for that "title" had either been dead for over 200 years, or they were a boring old politicians or a football player.
