Facial Hair

I thought Hitler's moustache was just popular fasion of the time and made popular by the famous entertainer, Chaplin, over a decade earlier.

Alexander the great made his men shave, it was too easy a
handle to grab in battle.

Hitler got his mustache for attnetion, so that people could easily recognize him. Ironically, the person who sugested it to him got the idea from Lenin, since when people thought of a bald guy with a beard, they'd think of Lenin. Hitler's mustache was on the same concept.

I beleive the famous quote is:

"Hitler looked like a waiter at a restauratn in a train station." or something like that.

He was quite ordinary looking.

Vogue comes into play. At the risk of over-generalising, it doesn't seem to be fashionable for highflyers to have moustaches. Anyone notice any exceptions in the developed world?

What would you say is the most popular facial hair form today?

Fashions change so quickly these days, I don't think it really matters.

With the advent of the weekly press, things changed with each few years but now they can change with the next big movie... :)

What do you mean by most popular: The most admired or the most the common? And, would the answer not differ with each age catagory?

Does the stuble count and can it be split into catagories of short, medium and messy? :p
